Golden Circle Classic & the Capital

This tour is actually a combination of 2 tours: Reykjavík City Sightseeing tour and the Gullfoss & Geysir Express (see below).

Some of the highlights include the Restaurant Perlan, towering Hallgrim's Church, the Höfði House, the Presidential Residence, Hafnarfjörður - home to human beings and the "hidden people", the old town center and harbor, a geothermal heated swimming pool and more. You will be taken out into the countryside for an excellent glimpse of the National Park Þingvellir, the geyser region of Geysir and the Golden Waterfall (Gullfoss) as well as a crater, and also the Garden of Eden itself, which is now located here in Iceland! On this tour, you will be visiting some of the very best known historical sites and superb natural phenomenon in the country.

Reykjavík City Sightseeing Tour:

• This tour includes all of the most significant places within the capital city and surrounding towns, such as the Presidential Residence at Bessastaðir, the Restaurant Perlan and Höfði House, where the all-important summit meeting between President Ronald Reagan and Secretary General Mikhail Gorbachev was held in 1986. We also visit the town of Hafnarfjörður, the home of elves and humans alike, as well as a fishing harbor, fish market (when it's open), the beautiful towering Hallgrim's Church, the University district, and the old town center with the Parliament Building and the new City Hall, which is located by a pond filled with birds. We will also be showing you the sports and recreation area in Laugardalur, a geothermal heated outdoor swimming pool and some of the works of sculptors Ásmundur Sveinsson and Einar Jónsson. Weather and circumstances permitting, we may end up back at the impressive Hallgrim's Church so that our guests may spend some time taking in the magnificent view from the top of the tower, studying the various art displays, and then walk the 10-minute downhill stroll to the city center. All our guests are dropped off at their hotels, at restaurants of their choice, or at one of 7 geothermal pools and baths in Reykjavík.

Gullfoss & Geysir Express:

• In one afternoon, this very popular excursion enables people with limited time to enjoy the most renowned natural phenomenons and places of interest in the country. The main attractions are the National Park Þingvellir, a highly interesting geological area where the ancient parliament was established in 930 AD, the majestic Gullfoss waterfall, as well as the mixed high- and low-temperature area of Geysir containing a few spouting hot springs, such as Strokkur and others. Also on the itinerary is the crater Kerið as we proceed to the horticultural community of Hveragerði, where geothermal energy is widely exploited for the greenhouse cultivation of many different kinds of vegetables, exotic fruits, and flowers. After an enjoyable stop, we'll continue over the mountains to the capital Reykjavík.
