Viking Horse, Gullfoss, Geysir

The classic Golden Circle with a riding adventure!

Make your dream come true and get acquainted with the Icelandic horse. It is a breed that has remained virtually unchanged since the Vikings brought it to Iceland in the 8th century. The Icelandic horse is small but sur-footed, docile, enduring and extremely strong. Enjoy a 1½ hour riding tour on the outskirts of the copital and get to know the horse that has managed to serve the natives for centuries in the harsh landscape of Iceland. For additional information about these horses, please click on the Icelandic Horse. After the riding experience, enjoy a lunch break before heading to the National Park, Þingvellir, esteemed for its unique geological features, natural beauty and the importance it played in the history of the country. There, the ancient parliament, Alþingi, was founded in the year 930 AD. On our way to the impressive waterfall Gullfoss, time is spent to visit the geothermal area of Geysir with its spouting hot springs.

This tour also takes you through fertile agricultural areas with a photo stop at the symmetric crater, Kerið. A visit to the greenhouse community of Hveragerði, where the geothermal energy has been harnessed to grow vegetables and other exotic plants, will show you the endless possibilities of this endeavor. After a short drive, we will be back in the capital, Reykjavík.
