Day 1: Arrival in Tours

Day 2: Tours – Azay le Rideau, 40 km or 25 mi.
As you leave Tours behind, you come upon Savonniéres, an incredibly picturesque town surrounded by beautiful nature. You proceed to Villandry famous for it's chateau and it's matchless gardens. Saché also awaits you, the home of the famous novelist Honoré de Balzac. Finally arrive in Azay le Rideau where you can admire its Renaissance chateau, a jewel set over the Indre river.

Day 3: Azay le Rideau – Chinon, 33 km or 21 mi.
The final destination of todays biking is Chinon but first we must head towards Langeais to admire the 15th century château. Offering a typical form of a medieval fortified castle, here you can admire the wonderful tapestries and furniture from the era in which it was built. Ride on towards the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ chateau in Ussé which has inspired Perrault for its famous fairy tail story.

Day 4: Chinon – Saumur, 40 km or 25 mi.
Before leaving the medieval city of Chinon, founded on the Vienne river, there is time to visit the numerous cellars which propose the famous red wine such appreciated by Rabelais. Then, continue towards the abbey of Fontevraud, the largest monastic city remaining in Europe which is the necropolis of the Plantagenêts sovereigns. You will end the day in the lovely town of Saumur.

Day 5: Saumur – Angers, 60 km or 38 mi.
The adventure continues following the Loire river before going through the vineyards of Anjou. You will reach the peaceful city of Angers and its chateau sheltering the famous Apocalypse Tapestry.

Day 6: Departure.
