The future of travel

The Future of Travel

The world is reemerging. A handful of international destinations have now opened their borders with more to follow.

As the number of those vaccinated increases, intrepid travelers celebrate. All of our partners, near and far, have implemented strict safety and hygiene protocols and are waiting to welcome you.

Jordan is just one bucket-list destination that is now open.

For those of us that are able and willing to travel, we open ourselves up to explore places and cultures like never before. We go out with a deeper appreciation of travel and the freedom to leave our homes and make connections in a more meaningful way.

Slowly but surely, countries are lifting restrictions and beginning to open up, inviting intrepid travelers who are willing to go out and explore. For a complete list of places that are open now, visit our Open Destinations page. These countries and the local operators that call them home are eager to welcome travelers and do everything within their control to make the experience safe. We have been working closely with each of our local partners to ensure safety protocols are in place.

We are here for you

Of course, you have questions and concerns. So do we. As travelers helping travelers, we will figure it out together. It is not just about getting out there, but doing so safely and responsibly.

Our very own Tour Specialist, Anna, recently traveled to South America to attend the ATTA Adventure Week in Bogotá. She regaled us with stories of spotless airports and planes and the sense of security she felt seeing all the passengers and crew in well-fitting masks. Over 50 people took part in the Adventure Week in some capacity, coming from the US, South America, and Europe, visiting different parts of Colombia with their respective tour guides. At the end of the trip, all participants tested negative for COVID-19, and a new sense of hope was instilled for the future of international travel.

We have compiled a list of open destinations and will be adding and editing as more countries open their borders. We also a Travel Restrictions Tool to help you navigate travel recommendations and restrictions.

Don't wait to plan

Because so many of you had to reschedule or postpone your plans from 2020 and early 2021, we are seeing and expect to see certain tours and dates fill quickly as borders continue to open.

We also now have new destinations and experiences. Be sure to take a look at our hiking, bird watching, active small ship cruises, and homestays & villas.

Flexibility and transparency

Many of our local partners have instated flexible booking, cancellation, and rebooking, and book now/pay later policies. For example, tours in Croatia are now running and there are many promotions and discounts being offered.

Travel Insurance

We have always recommended travel insurance, but now more than ever, we need to plan for the unexpected. Our partners at RoamRight have put together highlighting the perks of Cancel For Any Reason, Cancel for Work Reasons coverage, and the waiver of the pre-existing conditions exclusion in one plan: the Arch RoamRight CancelFlex Plan. This plan is only available for new bookings and is only available during the first 21 days after the initial trip deposit. RoamRight has incredible customer service. Don’t hesitate to talk to a Customer Service Representative today (1-866-891-6614) about how you can protect your investment.

Going forward

With over 20 years of experience to our name, this is not the first nor probably the last hardship our family will endure, BUT we will get through this! It is our goal to come out of this pandemic better suited to serve our local partners, our travel communities, and our clients. We are here and ready to when you are!

We are saddened that tripsite is nit providing a Covid cancellation policy. We had scheduled a barge/bike trip for a month from now. In light of president Macron’s announcement this week we decided to not travel. We are fully vaccinated but there is still a risk of the delta variant and being older we can not afford the risk. We hope tripsite will reconsider their policies.
