For some people "the love of biking" may not be the main reason they choose to go on a bike tour. Some people find enjoyment in exploring foreign lands and cultures, searching for the most delectable ethnic food, or crossing one more thing off their bucket list. We all have unique aspirations and travel for different reasons.

For Maureen Lin, cycling presented a way for her to explore the most majestic and mountainous terrain the world has to offer! This weeks Photo Friday highlights her adventures through stunning photography!

Maureen is a multimedia/user experience designer currently residing in New York City. She enjoys riding her Cannondale Supersix, strolling museums and galleries, and getting into books while commuting by subway. She has been on a couple Tripsite bike tours including the Alpine Panoramic Trail (Switzerland) and Famous Villages of Provence (France). Thanks to these wonderful cycling trips she is now addicted to cycling in beautiful mountains. She is looking forward to visiting more mountains in Colorado this year and possibly Italy next.

I just got back from one of the best vacations I have ever had....I biked and sailed the islands of Croatia on board the Odesij. Simply great. We biked about 200 miles over six days...and sailed from island to island. Our host Bernard was great and the other guests on board made the trip fantastic!! WONDERFUL!!!

Dear friends, My name is Hennie Van den Hengel and I am the founder of Tripsite and now share company ownership with my son and two daughters. We are originally from Holland, but when the children were young, my husband and I moved the family to the US to begin an agricultural business. We made rural Pennsylvania our home. It was wonderful to do what I loved, and when we decided to sell that business, I focused on another love- cycling. Read More

Porto to Santiago: A Surprise Outcome

No matter how many bike trips I take, there’s always a moment when the thrill of it all hits home. My brother and I are pretty experienced riders, but I still felt a tingle on a bright August morning when Sérgio, who set us up on our bikes, sent us on our way with a hearty, “See you next Wednesday!” “Next Wednesday,” I thought to myself, was six days and 290 kilometers (181 miles) from the beautiful Duoro River in Porto, Portugal, where Sérgio gave us our cheery farewell.
