Overview
In Barcelona and wondering about the best way to see the most beautiful sites this artistic city has to offer? Look no further than this comprehensive electric tuk tuk tour, taking you to the city’s most spectacular sightseeing spots in just 2 hours. This family-friendly guided tuk tuk tour is an efficient, exciting, and enjoyable way to tick the best of Barcelona’s landmarks off your bucket list, including the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló, Ciutadella Park, and the Arch of Triumph.
Hop aboard your comfortable electric tuk tuk and prepare to embark on an inspirational adventure through the city. Your tuk tuk tour will take you first to the Arch of Triumph, a splendid sight erected in glorious red brick as the entrance gate to the grand Barcelona World Fair of 1888.
Ride onwards to the Bullring, Catalonia’s last commercially operated bullfighting arena. The Plaza de Toros Monumental, or La Monumental as it is simply known in Barcelona, bears some resemblance to the famous Colosseum of Rome and now offers an incredible observation platform for those wishing to capture 180° panoramic shots of the city.
The Sagrada Familia is undoubtedly the pinnacle of Barcelona’s exquisite architecture, designed by the world-famous Antoni Gaudí and displaying features of a wealth of diverse architectural styles in one single temple, including Modernism, Art Nouveau, Gothic Revival, Noucentisme, and Spanish Gothic. Once seen, the spectacular Sagrada Familia simply cannot be forgotten.
Your perfect introduction to Barcelona continues as your tuk tuk takes you to La Pedrera, also known as Casa Milà and another masterpiece of Antoni Gaudí. This Modernista building is a quirky visual delight, famous for its ‘wobbly’ effect and for being the last private residence designed by Gaudí before his death.
Continuing on, discover Casa Batlló, an Antoni Gaudí building nicknamed ‘The House of the Dragon’ because of the wavy rows of metallic blue tiles that resemble the scales on a dragon’s back, as well as the nods to the legend of Saint George (the patron saint of Catalonia) on the building’s facade.
Your terrific tuk tuk tour now starts to explore Barcelona’s stunning squares, beginning with Catalonia Square, known as the ‘nerve center’ of Catalonia’s capital and always brimming with cultural life and vitality. Within the square, which was opened in 1927, visitors can admire several attractive statues by Clarà and Llimona. Your tuk tuk tour then shuttles you onwards to Spain Square, famous for the iconic buildings that surround it on all sides, including the two Venetian towers, the Bullring, and the Fira de Barcelona.
Moving on to Montjuïc, named after the Latin and Catalonian for ‘Jewish Mountain’, discover a grand hill offering spectacular views over the city of Barcelona. This hill is a treasure trove of cultural and historical relics, including the castle, Olympic Ring, Poble Espanyol, Magic Fountain, and a number of gorgeous parks and museums. The area is a regal wonderland of botanical gardens and exquisite architecture, and your guide will be glad to regale you with its history.
Your tuk tuk tour then glides into the captivating Gothic Quarter, known for its atmospheric bars, trendy artisanal leather and jewelry stores, and sublime Catalonian restaurants. Exploring the quarter by tuk tuk is ideal since your slim vehicle can carry you easily through the winding, medieval streets of this enchanting district of the city.
Continuing on to the Ciutadella Park, discover an urban oasis of ornate fountains, exquisite botany, and the phenomenal Font de la cascada. This incredible area is sublimely beautiful and a true delight for the senses, ending your unforgettable tuk tuk tour on an idyllic and peaceful note.
