Villas FAQ
Frequently asked questions and answers for our luxury villas!
Are the rates per person or for the entire villa?
Rates are for the entire villa. However, parties, special events, weddings, or other large gatherings require written permission. Some larger villas offer lower rates for using only part of the property or fewer bedrooms in the house. Villas may not be occupied by more guests than what is specified in the rental agreement.
What is the required length of stay?
Typically 5-7 nights are required. However, some villas offer shorter stays, especially if it is close to your departure date. During certain holiday periods, like Christmas and New Years', most villas require a minimum stay of 10-14 nights.
Does a weekly rental always start on the same day each week?
Generally, you may arrive any day of the week. Some villas may have a preferred or specified day of arrival. This will be indicated on the villas page. In Europe, specifically France and Italy, the normal arrival day is Saturday.
Seasons vary depending on the destination. In the Caribbean, High Season begins in mid-December and lasts until mid-April. Low Season usually can be found until mid-December. In Europe, July-August is considered the High Season. There are a few exceptions, so when in doubt, confirm with a Villa Specialist.
Can I rent a villa with more rooms than I need can I get a reduced rate?
Many villas can be rented at a reduced rate if not all rooms are used. This will be noted on the villas page. If you have a question about reduced rates, people inquire with a Villa Specialist.
Will I ever share a villa with strangers?
No. You will never share a villa with anyone other than the people you identify in your rental agreement.
Is a villa a good idea for a honeymoon or family reunion?
Yes, villas are perfect for special occasions. Villas are private and spacious, and most come with great amenities like a jacuzzi or pool and are suited for family gatherings. Many listings are romantic and offer packages for honeymoons and even reduced rates for 2 guests or honeymooners.
Are villas more expensive than a hotel?
As you browse the villas on our site, you'll see how much less expensive a villa can be compared to a luxury hotel with the same quality standard. When you consider the amazing benefits and amenties many of our villas offer, not to mention the privacy, you'll quickly realize the superb value a villa rental can offer. For example, if you were looking to rent three rooms at a high-end hotel, rooms may run you up to $690/night per room, while a 3 bedroom luxury villa with the same (and in most cases better amenities) could cost you $990/night. That's a saving of $1,080/night!
Which destination is the best?
This is up to your personal preference. We offer villas in many places, from the snowy mountains of Colorado to the white sandy beaches of the Caribbean. We also have exceptional Villa Specialists that are happy to help you find your perfect getaway.
Staff personnel availability varies depending on the destination. For example, if looking for cook service, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Barbados have homes with cook staff. Cook service can be arranged at additional costs at most other destinations. Maid service is included in most destinations but be sure to ask a Villa Specialist about the frequency of cleaning.
What is your deposit and cancellation policy?
For most places, the following standard practices apply: A 50% deposit is required within 3 days to hold a reservation. Reservations are not considered firm until the deposit and rental agreement forms are received. A confirmation letter is sent to you upon receipt of the deposit. The balance of your payment is due 90 days prior to your arrival date. In general, for written cancellations received outside the 90 days of arrival - 35% of the gross rental price is retained. For cancellations inside the 90 days of arrival, the entire deposit is forfeited. Please note that ALL holiday bookings are 100% non-refundable. Also, please be sure to check on deposit and cancellation policies for your specific villa as payment and cancellation terms may vary. We highly recommend travel insurance.
Are children welcome in all villas?
Yes, children are welcomed at most villas, however, there are a few homes with restrictions. Be sure to check with a Villa Specialist to find the perfect home suited for families and children.
Do I need to purchase travel insurance?
Smart travelers know to expect the unexpected. Even the best-planned vacations can go array. We highly recommend travel insurance to protect your investment. Our trusted partners at RoamRight, have the absolute best policies and customer service around.
