The Dolomites are a phenomenal mountain range between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. High peaks, steep walls, alpine pastures and mountain villages are the daily scenery of the stages. Little streets lead you up to passes or you just follow the valley from north to south getting closer and closer to the warm Adriatic Sea.

From the north east of the Dolomites, you will cycle over famous mountain passes. Lake Misurina, the "Three Peaks" and the Olympic town of Cortina d'Ampezzo are only some of the highlights you will see along the way. The tour takes you on to Bassano del Grappa where the land starts to level out. From here you cycle slowly downwards into the valley. After a short detour to Asolo, the town of a hundred horizons, you cycle along the wine road from Valdobbiandene to Vittorio Veneto. The wonderful town of Treviso awaits your arrival. Following the path along the Sile River, you will reach the Adriatic coast at the seaside resort town of Jesolo.

The Dolomites are well known from the race “Giro d’Italia” and demand very good fitness from the cyclists.  The final stage will lead you directly to Venice and to the large beaches of the Adriatic Sea.

This tour has a sportive nature and demands training to accommodate such. Cyclists will need to be prepared to ride from 50 to 69 miles (80 - 110 km) a day with some steep climbs involved.

  1. Arrival at Toblach/Niederdorf/Weisberg
  2. Toblach/Niederdorf/Weisberg -Cortina d/Ampezzo, 50 mi. and 5, 413' in altitude (80 km and 1650 m in altitude)
  3. Cortina d’Ampezzo - Belluno, 56 mi. and 3609'  in alititude (90 m and 1100m)
  4.  Belluno - Feltre,  62 mi and 2789' in altitude (100 km and 850 m)
  5. Feltre – Bassano Del Grappa,  41 mi and 4921 in altitude (65 km and 1500 m) .
  6. Bassano Del Grappa - Treviso, 69 mi. and 1969 ' in altitude (110 km and 600 m)
  7. Treviso – Venice/Mestre, 53 mi. and 0 ' in altitude (85 km and 0 m)
  8. Departure from Venice/Mestre.

DAY 1: Individual arrival at Toblach/Niederdorf/Weisberg
Arrival at the hotel in the Alta Pusteria.

DAY 2:  Toblach/Niederdorf/Weisberg -Cortina d/Ampezzo, 50 mi. and 5, 413' in altitude (80 km and 1650 m in altitude)
The tour takes you from Toblach through to the Sexten Valley, a flanking valley of Hochpustertal in the heart of the Dolomites. The route continues over the Kreuzberg pass and into the province of Belluno before going over two more Dolomiti passes en route to the former Olympic town of Cortina d'Ampezzo.

DAY 3: Cortina d’Ampezzo - Belluno, 56 mi. and 3609'  in altitude (90 m and 1100m)
Today you leave Cortina with the summit of the Tofane on the right and on the left, the Five towers interchange with the spendid mountain views.

DAY 4: Belluno - Feltre, 62 mi and 2789' in altitude (100 km and 850 m)
Leaving the stronghold of the ice cream makers you will cycle into the famous Italian prsecco 9sparkling wine) area of Valdobbiadene before reaching Feltre.

DAY 5: Feltre – Bassano Del Grappa, 41 mi and 4921 in altitude (65 km and 1500 m)
Before you finally reach the plains, you still have the Monte Grappa to attempt and defeat! During the 1st World War this was one of the many areas of the battles between Austria, Hungary and Italy.

DAY 6: Bassano Del Grappa - Treviso, 69 mi. and 1969 ' in altitude (110 km and 600 m)
You’ll leave the Alps now and will already be able to admire the first villas of the famous Italian architect Palladio. The idyllic small town Asolo invites you for a break before going on to the city of Treviso, the town of the watercourses. You will cycle along the so-called wine road to Vittorio and Conegliano on your way to Treviso. Enjoy the shopping streets famous for fashion (home of Benetton).

DAY 7: Treviso – Venice/Mestre, 53 mi. and 0 ' in altitude (85 km and 0 m)
Along the river Sile, the stage goes on directly to the Adriatic Sea and to Jesolo with long beaches and promenades. You’ll ride past the island of Cavallino to Punta Sabbioni, where you will take the ferry Mestre/Venice and admire the “Serenissima” with all its magnificent buildings.

DAY 8: Departure from Venice/Mestre.
