Experience Egypt from a unique perspective on a 13-day journey that combines cycling and cruising along the legendary Nile. Beginning at the Red Sea in the resort town of El Gouna, you’ll start with easy rides along palm-lined paths before heading inland toward the landscapes of Upper Egypt.
From Luxor to Aswan, your route follows quiet roads beside the Nile, passing through farmland, villages, and archaeological sites that most travelers only see from a distance. With special permission to cycle by the Giza Plateau and Luxor’s West Bank, this tour offers a rare perspective few travelers get to experience.
Between rides, relax aboard a beautiful deluxe-class hotel ship and enjoy guided visits led by expert Egyptologists who bring the past to life.

Day 1: Arrival in Hurghada - El Gouna
Arrive at Hurghada Airport, where you will be greeted and assisted with your Egyptian visa before an easy transfer to El Gouna, a modern resort built on a network of lagoons along the Red Sea. Check into your four-star hotel overlooking the water and meet your tour director, who will help you settle in. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with your group – this is your first taste of Egyptian hospitality, and a relaxed start to your journey.Accommodations: Three Corners Ocean View Hotel
Day 2: El Gouna Cycling, 18 mi. (29 km)
Start the day with a bike fitting, then head out on your first ride through El Gouna’s peaceful streets and waterfront paths. You will cycle past marinas, canals, and palm-lined boulevards with the Red Sea shimmering nearby – an easy introduction to the terrain and your e-bike. Spend the afternoon your way: take a dip in the sea, go snorkeling among coral reefs, or relax by the pool. Day 3: El Gouna - Dendera - Luxor
Leave the coast and travel inland toward the Nile Valley. On the way, visit the Temple of Dendera, one of Egypt’s best-preserved temples and home to remarkable astronomical carvings on its ceilings. After lunch, continue to Luxor, ancient Thebes, once the capital of the pharaohs’ empire. Day 4: Luxor East Bank, 16 mi. (26 km)
Cycle through Luxor to visit the Temple of Karnak, an enormous complex of sanctuaries and pylons that was built over two thousand years. Walk among its forest of massive columns before continuing your ride through nearby farmland. After a picnic lunch, visit Luxor Temple, beautifully aligned with the sunset. Day 5: Luxor - Esna, 32 mi. (51 km)
Ride along quiet roads beside the Nile passing date palms, fields of sugarcane, and small farming villages where life has changed little since ancient times. Enjoy lunch outdoors before reaching Esna, known for its Temple of Khnum, dedicated to the ram-headed god who, according to myth, shaped humanity on a potter’s wheel. Day 6: Kom Ombo - Aswan, 19 mi. (31 km)
Disembark early to visit the twin temple complex at Kom Ombo, a rare site dedicated to two gods – Sobek the crocodile and Horus the falcon. The temple overlooks a stretch of river once known for its crocodiles, and nearby you can see mummified specimens on display. After lunch, sail to Aswan and cycle through a Nubian village on the West Bank. Visit a local school and meet residents who share their traditions and stories. Day 7: Aswan and Philae Temple, 22 mi. (35 km)
Begin the day with a motorboat ride through Aswan’s nature reserve, a peaceful area filled with birdlife. Day 11: Sakkara and Coptic Cairo
Head south to Sakkara to see the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world’s first stone monument and the earliest large-scale experiment in pyramid building. After lunch, explore Coptic Cairo, home to some of Egypt’s oldest churches and a living record of its Christian heritage. Day 12: Cycling the Giza Plateau, 4 mi. (7 km)

Later, visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, where artifacts from ancient Egypt, including treasures from Tutankhamun’s tomb, are displayed in one of the world’s largest archaeological museums. Skill Level — Moderate–Difficult
This tour includes a mix of flat stretches and longer rides with some rolling terrain, best suited for cyclists with good fitness and experience. Daily distances and warm conditions can add to the challenge, but e-bikes make it accessible for most active travelers.

The closest major airport to the tour start is Cairo International Airport (CAI). From Cairo, you will need to arrange a domestic flight to Hurghada International Airport (HRG) on the Red Sea coast. Several airlines offer daily flights between Cairo and Hurghada, and the flight time is about one hour.
The tour concludes in Cairo, where the nearest airport is Cairo International Airport (CAI).
Local Travel
Once you arrive at Hurghada Airport, a representative will meet you in the arrivals area and assist with your Egyptian visa and transfer arrangements to the ship.
Climate
Egypt has a dry, sunny climate with very hot summers and mild, pleasant winters. From May to September, temperatures often rise above 100°F in the south, while coastal areas stay slightly cooler. Between November and March, days average around 70–80°F with cooler nights. Rain is rare, and clear skies are common year-round.
Day of Rest
If you choose not to ride on a given day, you can stay on board and enjoy a relaxing day on the ship.
