Overview
Get ready for your next European walking tour, tucked away in the Spanish region of Extremadura. Hike and explore a hidden part of western Spain's most important mountain range, Sierra De Gata, still relatively undiscovered by the typical tourist.
The ancient trails etched on the mountains were once used to move livestock, trade, and other essentials and to connect the secluded villages. Walking was a matter of survival.
You will trek the same historic trails through forests, rolling hills, and lush meadows. The footpaths lead through local vineyards and old gnarled olive groves, productive still today.
You spend afternoons and evenings in villages where history has been preserved. As you meander the quiet streets and alleys and experience the region's culture, you will hear a mysterious language, la fala, virtually unknown anywhere else in the world.
This unique and authentic hiking experience in remote Spain invites you to step away from the crowds and walk back in time!

The town is nestled in an idyllic setting of pine forests, through which you can enjoy wonderful walks along the Arrag River. The popular traditional architecture of Robledillo consists of houses made from slate, adobe, and the material known as varaseto, a mixture of chestnut and oak rods daubed with mud and straw. The façades have the traditional balustraded wooden eave and roofs made of curved tiles.Included in your tour price is a guided town tour and a wine tasting with tapas.
