After a relaxing breakfast, there will be a group transfer to Lisbon’s city Center (or bike if you prefer!) to begin the first official biking itinerary from The Eduardo VII Park. There is a spectacular view of old Lisbon from this vantage point. As the route descends along Liberty Avenue, the glamour and trendiness of this area will be on full display. Be sure to stop for a glass of the traditional cherry liquor, before arriving at the river. Sea breezes accompany as you cycle to the Belém Quarter, with its monuments to Portugal's Golden Age, when Vasco da Gama made her Europe's richest power. Dinner this evening will be in a Michelin Star Dinner.Day 3: Lisbon - Cascais
Today’s stage is enjoyed on bike lanes that are almost completely free of traffic, first along the Tagus river, pass the iconic Belém Tower and other historical buildings, then along the sea with wonderful views of the ocean. Lunch will be on the beach in the village of Carcavelos, known for its wonderful surfing. To the east side of the beach, there is a huge fortification named Forte de São Julião da Barra where an excursion is planned. It once was used to protect the Tejo river entrance from enemy ships. The cycling itinerary continues then to the Village of Cascais and the luxury pousada accommodations for this evening, Cidadela Historic Hotel & Art District, which is set within the walls of the historical fortress of the emblematic XVI Century Citadel of Cascais. Dinner will be enjoyed here in this very special atmosphere.Day 4: Cascais - Guincho area
After a relaxing breakfast drenched with views, the group cycles along the Estoril Coast – known as the Portuguese Riviera – allowing for discovery of the romantic, cosmopolitan, and unique character of several villages like Cascais, Estoril, and Guincho. The glamor and charisma of this coast will be sure to impress. After lunch, there is a stop to admire the largest casino of Europe and then, back on the bicycles for the last ride to the Guincho area (Windsurf World Championship Stage Beach) and the accommodations this evening – the ocean front Oitavos 5 Star Luxury Hotel, with its bold design and sleek lines.Day 5: Guincho - Blue Lagoon
Departing Guincho, always cycling along the Atlantic Ocean, enjoying fantastic views over the dunes and sea, the gentle sea winds will give an extra push from behind. The beach landscape is left behind as you enter the Sintra Natural Park, extending from the Ocean to the Sintra Mountain Range. Cycling green and lush scenic roads, the route leads to the Blue Lagoon, where the blue of the sky meets the deep green color of the crystal lagoon. Here you’ll be accommodated in the Penha Longa 5 Stars Hotel, an exclusive resort with astonishing views, encompassing a XIX Century Palace and a XIV Century Monastery. Dinner will be served in the Arola Restaurant, from the 2 Stars Michelin Chef Sergi Arola.Day 6: Blue Lagoon - Sintra
Breakfast in the Penha Longa Resort is an experience in and of itself after which the cycling adventure continues, pedaling towards the World Heritage Sintra village, a real-life fairytale. Its magical palaces, forests, and castles exude a mystical enchantment and rare beauty. There will be an excursion to the famous Pena Palace, one of the best examples of the XIX century Romantic period in Portugal. Located in the Sintra hills, the palace was built in such a way as to be visible from any point in the park, which consists of a forest and luxuriant gardens with over five hundred different species of trees originating from the four corners of the earth. It is magnificent and colorful on the outside and on the inside, the influence of the Kings and Queens who lived there is apparent. Biking through Sintra forest, the surroundings of luxurious emerald vegetation, create a dreamlike atmosphere. Accommodations this evening are at the Tivoli Seteais Palace Hotel, a 5 Star romantic palace from the XVIII century, with lush gardens and exquisitely decorated rooms…a time travel experience.
