Day 1: Individual arrival to Lucciana
In Lucciana, not far from Bastia’s airport, the newly renovated Hotel La Lagune awaits you with a swimming pool and private beach. For dinner, you will meet in the hotel restaurant, meet your group and guides at 8 pm and get ready for your wonderful Mediterranean cycling vacation.Accommodation: Hotel La Lagune
Day 2: Lucciana – San-Martino-di-Lota, 24 mi. (38 km)
After individual adjustment of the bikes, your tour starts right at the hotel. You will cycle on completely flat terrain, past a lagoon, and along the coast to Bastia, the island’s most important port, situated between the mountains and the sea. The Place Saint-Nicolas, fringed by palms and sycamore trees, is a wonderful place to linger. There is time to visit the old port and the citadel or to stroll through the small alleyways, before, the cycling begins again. A short ride leads to a scenic road with views of Cap Corse and, with good visibility, you can even see the island of Elba. In San-Martino, you are welcomed by Monsieur Anziani and his family to the Hotel La Corniche (2 nights). Their excellent cuisine and well-stocked wine cellar are known throughout the region.Accommodation: Hotel de la Corniche
Day 3: Round trip Patrimonio, 26 mi. (42 km)
On a panoramic road, you cycle past mountain villages to the Teghjime pass, with views opening up over Corsica’s western and eastern coast. Small paths lead downhill to Oletta amidst the Patrimonio, one of the island’s best wine areas. The conditions are ideal for premium wines, such as the muscat, but also for red and rosé wines of the Nielluccio grape, which you will have the pleasure of tasting. Saint-Florent is next on the agenda. Originating from a Genoese settlement of the 15th century, the tranquil little town, contrary to other ports on the northern coast, remains still unspoiled by tourism. In the afternoon, a bus transfer returns the group to San Martino. For dinner, you walk to the tiny village center to a very popular restaurant, also managed by Monsieur Anziani.Accommodation: Hotel de la Corniche
Day 4: San-Martino-di-Lota – Corte, 28 mi. (46 km)
A one-hour bus transfer transports you to Corsica’s wild center, where an entirely different landscape awaits: snow-clad mountains, romantic torrents, and dense chestnut forests. Far from tourist paths, the route leads through villages of small stone houses on rural roads. After having passed the col Bocca di Sant’Antone of almost 1,000 m, the route is quite panoramic to Corte, Corsica’s former capital. At the entrance to the Resonica Canyon sits the Hotel Dominique Colonna, the best hotel in central Corsica. The former Corsican professional soccer player, whom the hotel is named after, fulfilled his dream here and will welcome you to spend the next two nights in probably the best hotel in central Corsica.Accommodation: Hotel Dominque Colonna
Day 5: Round trip Restonica and Corte, 20 mi. (33 km)
Directly in front of the hotel, the group begins the day's cycle tour through the beautiful Restonica gorge. Extraordinary rock formations, clearings, and the Corte pine tree, indigenous only in this valley, create a wildly romantic atmosphere. At the end of the valley, a rugged mountain scenery opens up onto peaks beyond 2,500 m in height. On the way back to Corte, late risers may join the group, before spending the remainder of this day in this mysterious town with its picturesque citadel sitting high above on a rocky outcrop. Contested for centuries by Genoese, French, and Corsicans, it is still said to be the retreat of Corsican separatists. The town has preserved its originality with its university founded in 1765 and the many small craft shops in a warren of cobbled lanes provide for some shopping. For dinner, you are spoiled with regional specialties.Accommodation: Hotel Dominque Colonna
Day 6: Corte – Porticcio, 40 mi. (64 km)
Take a seat and be amazed! This morning, the famous Corsican railway takes you on one of the island’s most beautiful tracks, across viaducts, through canyons of unspoiled nature, and the longest narrow-gauge crest tunnel in France, the extraordinary Vizzavona tunnel. Before climbing up the Scalella pass of almost 1200 m, where a fantastic view awaits, you will have a worthwhile stop at Corsica’s highest waterfall. Then, by bike, it is all downhill, along serpentines to a small mountain village for lunch in a typical restaurant. Continuing on country roads, with glimpses of the glittering sea between the mountains, the route leads past the Tolla reservoir and then, Porticcio. For two nights, you are accommodated at the Suite Home Porticcio, a comfortable hotel with spacious rooms, a swimming pool, and a garden, located only a few steps from the beach.Accommodation: Suite Home Porticcio
Day 7: Round trip Ajaccio, 9 mi. (15 km) + 4 mi. hike (7 km)
Today is a special treat. A bus transfer will take you to the Tour de la Parata, one of the 67 still existing Genoese towers. From there, you walk the panoramic coastline to a mostly deserted beach with the possibility of taking a refreshing swim. After lunch, you cycle to Ajaccio and visit the capital of Corsica and the birthplace of Napoleon. There is time left to discover the charm of this lively town by strolling through the narrow lane and the impressive Citadel before the boat returns you to Porticcio. The last evening is enjoyed at an authentic well-run restaurant.Accommodation: Suite Home Porticcio
Day 8: Porticcio – Bastia, departure or extension of your stay
After breakfast, by train, it is back to Bastia. The three-hour ride allows you to ponder back on your week in this wonderful island. The tour officially ends in the early afternoon at the train station Casamozza (Bastia), from where you will be able to reach the airport in ten minutes by taxi. You can also, of course, extend your stay.Looking for more? View all our featured bike trips, specials, and news or look at our full list of bike tours in Europe.

Extra Info
Skill Level — Easy–Moderate
This is an exclusive electric bike tour, so it is difficult to give the itinerary an overall rating. There are several hillier to steep routes to contend with that may be challenging even with the Pedelec. There is seldom flat terrain, but it is well manageable with the Pedelec. Otherwise you’ll experience several pleasant descents with hardly any traffic. During longer sections, the support van is constantly available.
Airport Info
Fly to Bastia-Poretta Airport (BIA). In order to participate completely in the travel program, your flight would have to land in Bastia at 7:30 pm at the latest. Your return flight from Bastia can be planned from 3:30 pm or individually from Ajaccio.
