Extra Info
Skill Level — Easy–Moderate
This is a 7-day self-guided tour that provides 2 or 3 options everyday to let you choose your daily route. Average daily distance is approximately 50 km.
Airport Info
Most convenient arrival airport in terms of transfer logistics is Bastia Airport and for departure airport, Calvi.
Local Travel
Airport transfer from Bastia to your first hotel is included in your tour price. Departure transfers are not included unless you have booked the luxury option and are departing from Calvi. Otherwise, there is a small supplement. See pricing. If departure is from Bastia, distance is 2 - 3 hours of driving and public transportation would not really be an option. See pricing for more information
Climate
Please check local conditions before your arrival. The island enjoys superb summer temperatures with some of the highest sunshine records in France, with an average of 2,793 hours per year. The typical Mediterranean climate applies only to the seaside and the low altitude zones in Corsica. For the mountainous part of the island, which is most of the inland area, bear in mind that the altitude changes the climate.
Important to know
Documents:
Before you travel, please check your country's passport and visa requirements and the passport and visa requirements of the country/countries you plan to visit. For US citizens, the US Department of State website is a good source of information. The Country Information tab in the International Travel section provides details about passport validity, blank passport pages required, etc. For our other international clients, please be sure that you research your own country's travel requirements. It is each traveller's responsibility to insure proper documentation.
Bicycles:
You can upgrade your bicycle rental to the Trek FX2, a standard bike with all the characteristics of a road bike except that it has flat handlebars. It’s a perfect fitness bike and very versatile in that it combines road bike speed with city bike comfort.
Don't forget that electric bikes are available as well. You will enjoy a Trek UM3+ with a smooth but powerful electric pedal assist via the Bosch Active line 400 wh battery. Bicycle comes equipped with disc brakes.
Prefer a road bike? There are a few to choose from a basic model with an aluminum frame to premium with full carbon frame.
All bicycle rentals require a credit card to secure the rental. Please insure that you return the rental in the condition in which it was received as you could be charged for any damages ranging from €200 up to €1000.
