Mountains and sea and everything in between, bike through the sun-soaked landscapes of Andalusia, Spain!
Through history, culture, and incredible beauty, you cycle from Moorish opulence in Granada through the lush hinterlands overlooked by the soaring Sierra Nevada Mountains.
An undulating route meanders through olive groves and passes through authentic villages, including lesser-known White Villages whose whitewashed facades and narrow cobblestone streets are iconic Andalucía.
The tour concludes in the port city of Marbella on the Mediterranean where you can lose yourself in the labyrinthine streets of its old town. Book an extra day to enjoy the beach, the sun, and the soothing sounds of the sea.
An optional transfer is offered to Malaga if you would like to visit the Costa del Sol. As one of the world's oldest cities, the Moorish Old Town beckons.

Day 5: El Chorro - Ronda, 37 mi. (60 km)
Day 6: Ronda - Marbella, 36 mi. (59 km)

Day 1: Granada
Arrive in the enchanting city of Granada, amidst the architectural wonders of the 13th-century Alhambra, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Due the popularity of this famous monument, tickets to Alhambra must be reserved in advance. Recommended is an extra night in Granada to give you plenty of time to explore. Nestled next to this ancient Moorish palace and fortress complex, your night at the Parador promises a magical introduction to Andalucía. Don't forget to indulge in the local tradition of tasting tapas, savoring the flavors that make Granada's culinary scene unforgettable.Sample accommodation:

Day 2: Granada - Loja, 41 mi. (67.5 km) | Elevation: +512m/-759m
Our tour representative will meet you in the hotel lobby at 9:30 am for bike rental delivery and fitting. Cycling directly from Granada, you follow the Genil River, passing through , captivating landscapes and charming villages, including the hometown of Federico García Lorca, Valdevaqueros. The village of Loja is your day's destination. Set against the Sierra de Loja, at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, Loja's cultural significance echoes through its Moorish remnants, marking it as a Site of Cultural Interest by the Spanish government.Sample accommodation: Hotel el Mirador
Day 3: Loja - Antequera, 32 mi. (53 km) | Elevation: +806m/-825m
Today's route unfolds towards Antequera, the heart of Andalucía, celebrated for its historic landmarks and megalithic wonders like El Torcal and El Peñón de los Enamorados. Immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture, relishing a variety of tapas and wines that define Andalusian gastronomy. Day 4: Antequera - El Chorro, 19 mi. (32 km) | Elevation: +492m/-784m
A highlight awaits as you overnight in El Chorro, perched in the stunning Gaitanes Gorge, featuring the renowned Caminito del Rey. Day 5: El Chorro - Ronda, 37 mi. (60 km) | Elevation: +1575m/-1085m
Challenge yourself on a breathtaking ride from Caminito del Rey to Ronda, traversing the Guadalhorce Valley, small villages, and dramatic landscapes. As you approach Ronda, the terrain becomes more mountainous, treating you to awe-inspiring views of the Serrania de Ronda and the Sierra de Grazalema. Day 6: Ronda - Marbella, 36 mi. (59 km) | Elevation: +828m/-1547m
First you are provided a transfer to the smll mountain village of Jubrique and begin to cycle from here. Descend from the Sierra de Ronda to the sun-soaked Costa del Sol and vibrant Marbella. Navigate a mix of flat terrain, rolling hills, and climbs, experiencing the city's historic charm amidst narrow streets and lively surroundings. .Sample accommodation:

Day 7: Marbella - optional transfer to Málaga
The cycling route concludes in Marbella, with an optional transfer to Málaga, considering the challenging coastal journey. This tour is rated moderate. You will cover a distance of 183 miles (293 km) over 5 cycling days primarily on rural secondary roads, with 10% of the route winding through country paths. The terrain is undulating, presenting occasional challenges, particularly on the stretch from Caminito del Rey to Ronda. Electric bikes are available!

Fly to Granada, Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport (GRX). Another option is the Malaga Airport (AGP).There are direct buses to Granada from the airport.
Arrival transfer from Malaga to Granada is available for a supplement.
Local Travel
From GRX: The Granada-Aeropuerto bus line connects with the city center, located 17 kilometers away, with strategic stops in places like Avenida de Andalucía, the bus station, Gran Vía de Colón and Paseo del Violón, next to the Palacio de Congresos. The full journey takes approximately 45 minutes.
Another option: Malaga Airport (AGP)
There are direct buses to Granada from the airport. Arrival transfer from Malaga to Granada is available for a supplement.Climate
Andalusia’s climate exhibits remarkable diversity from Granada to Marbella, reflecting the region’s varied topography and geographical features.
In Granada, nestled inland and at a higher elevation, the climate is influenced by the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Granada experiences a continental climate with temperature variations between seasons. Closer to Marbella, located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, the climate undergoes a noticeable change. Marbella enjoys a classic Mediterranean climate, characterized by mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers. The moderating influence of the sea keeps temperatures relatively stable throughout the year.Day of Rest
