You can loop around and return via Rusnė Island, Lithuania's only island, located in the Nemunas River Delta Regional Parks. The Nemunas is home to 55 rare species of birds that use the wetlands for their breeding grounds and over 40 types of mammals also live in the park, making it one of the few thriving ecosystems unharmed by man. Standing on the bank of the Nemunas River in Rusnė, you can see the Russian oblast of Kaliningrad over just 100 meters across the river. En route, you can visit the Rusnė museum, the old water pumping station, and the 19th-century lighthouse in Uostadvaris Harbor. Optional dinner at hotel and overnight in Šilutė.

You can explore the impressive sand dunes on foot or on your cycle, as well as the other most popular places of interest-the Fisherman's House, the summer house of the famous German writer, Thomas Mann and the Amber Gallery.
