Overview
Advancements in technology, intriguing innovations, futuristic lifestyle products, Big Tech transformations - it all goes down at the global hub of high technology in the world-famous Silicon Valley. Here, you’ll find the headquarters of the biggest names in the tech industry, including Google, Apple, and Instagram, as well as the most fascinating prototypes of futuristic products in places like the Computer History Museum and the Apple Park Visitors Center. Your day tour is a jam-packed, innovation-focused itinerary that shows you the key sights of Silicon Valley, a remarkable and profoundly influential region of Northern California.
Your incredible adventure begins at one of the pre-arranged pick-up spots, where the mini-coach will swing by to pick up its excited passengers and ferry them to their first stop - Instagram. Instagram, the tech giant photo sharing company owned by Meta, was initially released in 2010. You’ll snap an ‘Insta-worthy’ photo in front of the enormous Instagram sign, a shot that’s likely to get you a lot of ‘likes’! Catch a glimpse of the bustling building and hear all about how this social media seedling grew into the largest player in online photo sharing.
Next, get to grips with Googleplex, a tech playground that forms part of the colorful Google Campus. It’s a truly fun and fascinating place, featuring life-sized chess pieces, a volleyball court, on-site barbers, and fabulous food stalls, all set up to satisfy the playful whims of Google workers during their breaks. You might feel a tinge of envy at the whacky workplace of the ‘Googlers’, as employees of the world’s largest search engine like to call themselves.
Moving on to the Computer History Museum, take a deep dive into four decades of collated computer technology exhibits and discover one of the world’s first computers, as well as gadgets, games, AI-operated prototypes, and even self-driving cars! It’s an absolute treasure-trove of tech products and exhibits that’ll truly teach you all there is to know about the history of tech transformation!
Your fascinating day tour allows time for lunch in Palo Alto where your guide will provide several excellent recommendations for food. You’re likely to be quite in awe of your surroundings here - Palo Alto is one of the five most expensive cities in the USA, home to some of the most highly educated people in the country. Should there be enough time, your tour will take you for a quick visit to the humble HP Garage for an overview of this city’s tech-focused rags-to-riches story.
For your final fabulous stop, your guide will lead you to the awesome Apple Park Visitors Center, stacked with interactive stations for testing out new tech, a world-class cafe, and an Apple Store fully stocked with the brand’s new releases. Whilst no one except employees are allowed to wander the headquarters in person, you’ll be able to explore this top-secret campus using virtual reality via an iPad.
With your knowledge of tech innovation and history fully topped up, you’ll reboard your mini-coach and set off back to the sensational city of San Francisco, taking a scenic route that’ll give you a great glimpse of the stunning Crystal Springs Reservoir and the San Andreas Lake.
N.B. Your tour will be tailored to best suit the needs of your group. Please be aware that Google, Apple, Meta, and other possible stops are places of business and employees are working in the buildings. This means that whilst the tour can take you into many of the public areas, you cannot enter the working buildings on foot.
