You’ll find that the Asakusa district is much more secretive than other neighborhoods, with gar bars difficult to identify and secret saunas known about only through word of mouth. Asakusa certainly feels like a bit of a time warp, and your guide will fill you in on the details of how the gay community in Tokyo are working to increase inclusivity in this district.

After strolling between the sights, you’ll settle down for some simply stunning food in a local restaurant - in Japan’s flavorful capital, it would be a shame not to!

The Shinjuku 2-Chome district is quite different from Asakusa, with a much more open atmosphere and an obvious scene that you’ll enjoy experiencing on your walking tour. In fact, 2-Chome is the most openly gay community in Japan, where bars are open onto the street and a more accepting atmosphere is kindled.
