Overview
This stunning bike tour in Spain starts in the medieval city of Segovia. Renowned for its remarkable Aqueduct, this landmark in the city is an impressive feat of civil engineering and continues to be one of the most beautiful urban sites in the world.
Your overnights and circular routes along the way will showcase Spain at its best: rich in history and culture, delicious local wines and gastronomy (tapas!), and an abundance of scenic eye-candy.
You will be transported back in time, gazing upon the Pedraza Castle dating back to the 13th century! A highlight for sure will be Duratón Canyon Nature Reserve. The powerful forces of the River Duratón have excavated deep gorges in these limestone lands, and a great number of large birds call this place home.

Day 1: Arrival in Segovia
Day 2: Segovia - Collado Hermoso, 28 miles (45 km)
Day 3: Circular route to Turegano, 22 miles (36 km)
Day 4: Collado Hermoso - Pedraza, 20 miles (32 km)
Day 5: Circular route Pedraza, 18 miles (29 km)
Day 6: Pedraza - Sepulveda, 20 miles (32 km)
Day 7: Circular route to Duraton Canyon Nature Reserve, 23 miles (37 km)
Day 8: DepartureDay 1: Arrival in Segovia
Begin your bike tour in Segovia, a city designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Spend your first night discovering its historic gems, including the towering Roman Aqueduct, an ancient engineering marvel that served the city until the 20th century.Sip a glass of wine in the picturesque Plaza Mayor with views of the majestic Segovia Cathedral, then stroll to the storybook Alcázar, where Queen Isabella I authorized Columbus’s voyage to the Americas. A perfect mix of cycling, history, and culture awaits.

Day 2: Segovia - Collado Hermoso, 26 miles (42 km) | Climb: 614 m
Ride along peaceful country roads through the picturesque Spanish countryside en route to the charming village of Collado Hermoso. Along the way, stop at the stunning Royal Palace of San Ildefonso (La Granja) to explore its ornate gardens and famous fountains. For a delicious local meal, we recommend dining in Torrecaballeros, known for its excellent traditional Castilian cuisine.Sample accommodation: Posada Fuente plateada
Day 3: Circular route to Turegano, 22 miles (36 km) | Climb: 422 m
Visit the historic town of Turegano, a hidden gem in Spain known for its impressive Moorish castle and charming medieval town square. This culturally rich stop offers a perfect blend of history, architecture, and authentic Spanish heritage.Sample accommodation: Posada Fuente plateada
Day 4: Collado Hermoso - Pedraza, 20 miles (32 km) | Climb: 363 m
Enjoy a scenic bike ride through charming villages and forested landscapes, leading you to Pedraza, one of Spain’s best-preserved medieval towns. Discover cobblestone streets, ancient stone walls, and timeless architecture on this unforgettable cycling adventure.Sample accommodation: Hostería Del Arco or Hotel Don Mariano
Day 5: Circular route Pedraza, 18 miles (29 km) | Climb: 341 m
Today you will explore the countryside of Pedraza. You will come across quaint villages where the rustic style is ever-present; perfect examples of rural Romanesque churches and stunning countryside.Sample accommodation: Hostería Del Arco or Hotel Don Mariano
Day 6: Pedraza - Sepulveda, 20 miles (32 km) | Climb: 375 m
Today you will cycle from the foothills to the plains of Castilla. This route is relaxing as you pass through fields of sunflowers and wheat. Eventually it will lead to the hilltop town of Sepulveda. Have a picnic near the natural spring or take a dip in the crystal clear waters!Sample accommodation: Rural Hotel Posada de San Millan or Hotel los Templarios
Day 7: Circular route to Duraton Canyon Nature Reserve, 23 miles (37 km) | Climb: 548 m
The last cycling day will bring you to the Duraton Canyon Nature Reserve. Cycling along the river, you will pass under the shade of poplars while admiring the impressive birds of the area.Sample accommodation: Rural Hotel Posada de San Millan or Hotel los Templarios

Day 2 through 7 you will be in high quality, small, rural accommodations and in Sepulveda, you will stay in a unique heritage hotel. If the preferred hotel list is not available, a hotel of equal standard will be contracted.

Airport Info
Fly to Madrid International Airport
Local Travel
The train station at Madrid International Airport is in terminal T4, floor 1, and is called Aeropuerto T4. To get here from other terminals there is a shuttle bus service connecting the terminals. Take Metro line 8 from the airport to the end of the line at Nuevos Minsterios station. Then take line 10 north (destination Hospital Infanta Sofia) to the Chamartin train station where the trains to Segovia leave from. The Metro trip should take you 35-40 minutes. To check departure times for the train, consult www.renfe.es. The train trip takes about half an hour, and will deposit you at the new Segovia AVE train station just outside of town. From here, a city bus will drop you off right at the foot of the aqueduct downtown. From Sepulveda at the end of the tour, book the local transfer back to Segovia and continue to Madrid by train.
