Overview
Biking in Holland was the passion that fueled the founding of our company 20 years ago and hiking in Holland now just naturally follows.
Dutch-born and bred we know this landscape! The National Park De Hoge Veluwe is one of our favorites and will be yours as well. Heathlands, sand dunes, and woodlands will be the nature you trek and art and history, the substance.
In addition to the extensive flora and fauna of the park, the award-winning design and architecture of the country estate of the wealthy Kröller-Müller couple will be a highlight. The Kröller-Müller Museum, housing the world’s largest private Van Gogh collection will top it off.
The next stage is about vast moors, lateral moraines, and the floodplains of the Lower Rhine, with highlights such as Kasteel Doorwerth and the Duno plateau.
Holland is not only a cyclist's paradise but a hiker's as well!

Your first night's accommodation is located just a ten-minute walk from Arnhem's Central Station. The hotel, located in the heart of the fashion district features rooms decorated by designers. Once you check-in and refresh a bit, you will want to explore the city. We suggest that you book an extra night here before (or after) so that you can have an entire day to take advantage of all that Arnhem offers. A stroll through the Fashion Quarter showcases the boutiques of famous and aspiring Dutch designers. galleries, studios, and small arts and craft shops housed in historic houses. Trendy cafes and bistros line the street. Maybe shopping is not your thing but the atmosphere is energy infused! A visit to the city park of Sonsbeek, which is over a hundred years old, is a green alternative or a visit to the Arnhem Wine Museum, associated with one of Holland’s oldest wine houses may align with your interests.Other attractions include the Arnhem Museum, featuring modern and contemporary art in an incredibly beautiful building from the 19th century as well as a sculpture garden, WW II aficionados will love the Arnhem War Museum and the John Frost Bridge, where you will learn more about the fate of the civilians and soldiers in the 'Slag om Arnhem' information center.
If you have booked an extra day here and you love WW II history, a visit to the Airborne Museum in nearby Oosterbeek is a must as well as the nearby war cemetery.

Through the vast heath and forest area of Planken-Wambuis, you trek to the picturesque hamlet of Mossel. Here, in the middle of the Veluwe, it is wonderful to relax with a refreshment on the terrace. As you continue on the route to the Ginkel Heather (famous as the dropping zone for the soldiers during Operation Market Garden), you will undoubtedly encounter grazing sheep and cattle. It is possible to stop at the Panorama Farm before you start the last leg to the university town of Wageningen which you enter via the Wageningse Eng path, an ancient agricultural footpath along the edge of the forest and Veluwe moraine, that opens up into views over the Rhine.Accommodation: Hotel de Wereld
Day 4: Wageningen - Arnhem, 16 mi. (25 km)
A long, but very varied walk is on the agenda today. First it leads along the floodplains of the Rhine through the Arboretum, then through the Renkum Brook Valley to the town of the same name. You then follow along the Rhine, across the Noordberg to the beautiful Kasteel Doorwerth, the perfect spot for a break on the terrace. Rested, you start the climb to the Duno plateau, with a very un-Dutch rolling view of the Rhine and the floodplains. Via Mariëndaal park, you enter Arnhem.
