Overview
This luxury charter barge experience in the south of France meanders an ancient waterway through a land of art, history, food, and wine. The Canal Du Midi, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is considered an architectural wonder, having been constructed in the 17th century with impressive engineering ingenuity. It was conceived to commercially link the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic, and today, it will link you to new tastes, smells, and sights.
You and your small group will navigate into the very heart of the Languedoc wine region and into the essence of the French Art de Vivre. As the canal gently winds through the terrain, you unwind, the cares of the world falling away.
Explore medieval villages, artisans' shops, ancient archaeological sites, renowned vineyards, and enjoy your private and exclusive accommodations, pampered by your personal chef, guide, hostess, and captain. And for exercise, on any given day, you can bike or hike along the canal on the rustic towpath, or lounge, soak in the sun on the deck. This is your journey...your boat...your France.
