Dalmatian Coast from Split to Dubrovnik
Croatia

Well, my first experience was in 2016, in Ireland, when I cycled alone in the Clare & The Burren region. It was great... Then in 2017 I cycled in Norway, Drammen, Horten, Sandefjord, Fredrikstad, Son and Oslo, and in December 2017 I cycled over Christmas and New Year in Vietnam and Cambodia. Last year I cycled around Lake Constance, which I LOVED! This year I went walking in CROATIA, in the Dalmatian region, and I LOVED it. I guess I'm a bit biased to say anything.

Split, the hikes on Island Brad and Hvar Island were the most memorable. Our briefing in Split was comprehensive with well organized materials. Villa Toni was wonderful and our host was exceptional in customer service. Villa Nora was nicely located and the hosts were welcoming. Did not enjoy the entire Korcula experience - parts of the hike were okay but some along a major road were not. Nothing to see or do in Korcula. Hotel Liburna was okay - best part was the breakfast. We skipped Day 6 of our itinerary because the travel and hiking seemed uninteresting. Hotel Lapad in Dubrovnik was amazing and wonderfully located away from the touristed areas. Dubrovnik was very expensive and Old Town was jammed with cruise tourists. There were several stop gaps and wait times on this itinerary which were frustrating to us.

The views were spectacular! The people of Croatia were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. It was a most enjoyable trip.
Tips: pack water shoes and a light weight towel in your back pack while hiking to enjoy the many beaches!

We have reviewed the comments by Dona C. and we agree with her comments -- this was a great way to see the Islands. The briefing (2 hours) and the material (very comprehensive) provided by the tour operator (Tony) was excellent. We navigated by using the Ride with GPS App, a Garmin and the written materials. We found that the Ride with GPS App was the best, but when we ran out of power, the written materials worked just fine. If you are using the App, you need to carry a power bank. The only navigating issue was on Day 6 at 6.29 kms—very confusing to find the trail notwithstanding using both the App and the written instructions—have the Tour operator explain the instructions—having said that, we found the trail (through house’s back yards). When we booked, we had requested hiking poles. When we received the briefing—the tour operator had no record of the same (it normally does not rent hiking poles), but the tour operator contacted Tripsite and the tour Read More

Everything went exactly as planned. We saw parts of Croatia that we would have never experienced without this sort of trip. And we were the only ones on the trails we were walking on. The accommodations were just perfect and in great locations. The hotel in Hvar was exceptional. We left our water bottles in the refrigerator and they were great enough to put them on the catamaran to have them delivered to us on Korcula the next day. Amazing! Our luggage was waiting for us when we arrived and all transportation tickets were spot on. We did get a GPS and would recommend that. Used an app called Ride with GPS. This was a good, but unfortunately, after 3 days, we lost "My Events", which gave us access to the specific days' hikes. I would also recommend that you have the person who gives the orientation spend a little time with this app. There were times we were using the paper instructions, the APP and GPS, all at the same time.
