We enjoyed this tour so much! We were one of the last tours of the season, late September, which ended up being the perfect time to go as the weather was not too hot. It was ideal for cycling. It was less ideal for swimming, but we still managed to have a few opportunities for water fun. We also ended up with a really fun group of people on our boat, so that definitely added to our enjoyment. Ebikes were a huge plus for the long climbs. Those on regular bikes in our group were pretty wiped out each day. We had two guides, Mirta and Kristopher, and they were excellent! They gave us good information about each stop. The boat was an older, wooden boat, but the rooms were comfortable the rooftop deck was a huge plus! Nearly everyone we encountered spoke English and most signs with in both English and Croatian. It was a very easy country to get around in and experiencing some of the islands by boat and bike was a spectacular way to go!

The crew was outstanding and we were excited to see familiar faces from our trip 2 years ago. Our guides Kristofor and Ivan did a great job of laying out and explaining our daily ride and took care of us to make sure everyone had a safe and enjoyable time. The stops in the towns along the way were well timed and always interesting with Read More opportunities to taste some of the local food and beverages. The meals on the boat were delicious and and welcome after a day of biking thanks to our chef Super Mario and usually followed by a relaxing walk around the town where we were docked. The passengers were an eclectic mix with 17 guests from 7 different countries and everyone had a super attitude and were always ready to embrace the experiences.
As always the webpage accurately represents the itinerary for the week. We were blessed with good weather so there were no unexpected changes to the plan other than a few route revisions due to road construction. We're already planning on returning to Croatia to explore the southern coast on one of the Dalmatia trips.

This bike and boat tour of the Istrian Peninsula was fantastic. We cruised through the beautiful Adriatic Sea. On our daily bike rides, we experienced both lovely smalll villages, the Croatian countryside, and larger port cities with history and buildings going back thousands of years. The walking tours of these cities by local guides were outstanding. Our bike tour guides were excellent. The boat crew was excellent. The food and drink were outstanding. Kudos and thanks to the entire biking and boating staff on our trip! Our boat cabin was small but comfortable, and the public areas of the boat were also beautiful and comfortable and enabled us to experience the gorgeous Adriatic as we cruised through it. Highlights for me were the city of Rovinj and the excellent tour we had through it, and the village of Groznjan with its artists. And the scenic rides. We road quite a bit on gravel roads to avoid cars. These were a bit bumpy at times, but the bikes did fine. There were some steep hills; the ebikes made riding easy. The trip was a good value.

The entire trip was memorable! Thank goodness for e-bikes! I don't think anyone on the boat would have been able to complete most days without an e-bike - there were a few who didn't use them, but they were in great physical condition and obviously accustomed to riding hills.
I was blown away by the quality of the food that was served by Mario out of that tiny kitchen! All of the meals were amazing!
I would honestly say this tour should be advertised for e-bikes only. There were some grueling hills. We have been on numerous bike and barge trips in years past and this was by far the most challenging - and also the first time everyone in our group used e-bikes. The routes were in either very high traffic or on very bumpy and obstacle-filled dirt roads, which made it difficult to take in the beauty around, as you had to focus on what was in front of you. Croatia is a beautiful country - I do wish there were better bike paths though.

The towns we visited were great. If you do this tour get the e'bike. We were the only people on regular bikes. The e-bikes had shocks, we did not. It was a constant battle on hills as everyone left us behind. We were ok on flat roads but the hills and rock and gravel trails without shocks were terrible. E-bikes should be required.

Istria is gorgeous, The guides, the food, the crew, and the other bikers were all outstanding. One caution: the description calls the biking easy-moderate, mostly flat with some rolling hills. That is absolutely not true. I rode 152 miles over six days and logged 10,650 feet of elevation gain, with 20-25 percent being on gravel or rocky trails, some single track. Istria is rocky, and much of the gravel was actually imbedded rocks that had to be maneuvered. We did have some modifications due to weather, but the hardest day was as scheduled. Two days had grades up to 14 percent. I planned to book a hybrid, but decided on an e-bike because of another person's review. I bike a lot, but I would have been unable to bike some days if I'd been on a hybrid. Seasoned mountain bikers were better able to handle it, but typical bikers, I think not on a hybrid.
We happened to have a small group with only ten guests. With a capacity group, the boat might seem very crowded. It was very nice with the small group.

Amazing rides, guides, guests, sights and food - and oh yes, the crew! This was an extraordinary week filled with splendid rides through the countryside and small villages, wonderful food on the boat and in restaurants and laughter every time we got together. The guides were our coaches and resources - sharing their knowledge and perspectives on all aspects of Croatia. We had opportunities for language lessons, geography/historical insights and town walks with locals. The boat provided everything we needed and the crew make sure that we were comfortable and well cared for. Great value also!

The people made this tour. Some of the cycling routes were on major roads. Others were on gravel. Our guide Christopher was wonderful. Boat was ok. We had a room that had not been refurbished. Most other rooms had been updated. The main course of each meal was good but the vegetables accompanying them were overcooked and mushy. I would give the food a 5 out of 10.
Bikes were in great condition and repaired by the guides quickly if needed.

Most memorable were the seaside and inland bicycle and leisure experiences: swimming the Adriatic was a surprise along with the picturesque medieval coastal cities and medieval hilltop towns. All in the company of fun staff and other bikers, despite the fact that there were only 2 of us from the US. Almost everyone on board spoke English. Mid-June was a great time to go, with lovely green vineyards and olive groves, lots of blooming flowers, more moderate air temperatures with refreshing water temperatures for swimming. E- bikes made the otherwise challenging uphills easy.

the beauty of Croatia was stunning . Everything about the trip was simple and very basic in all of its beauty. The fact we had good weather made all the difference because had it been all rainy it would have made things a lot less enjoyable . Outstanding crew both the 4 guides and the inside crew. They could not have been better !

Getting up every morning to a delicious breakfast buffet on the boat, followed by a scenic and exhilarating bicycle ride through gorgeous countryside was fabulous. The locations chosen were ideal. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I’d book another bicycle trip in a heartbeat. It’s best to read about the terrain and difficulty level of the rides before you go and train accordingly. Best trip ever!!

Kvarner Bay tour from Omisalj. Wonderful memories aboard The Linda. The crew, our knowledgeable and every language speaking tour guides Ana and Kristofor, the food, the sites, the wonderful passengers we met from around the world. The weather was in our favor and the crew adapted to make sure our experience was safe and that we could ride our bikes as much as possible without too much of a rough ride on the seas. Thank you so much! Marilyn

Croatia is absolutely gorgeous! The port towns are so charming, yet different from others in Europe. The landscape and views from the high points of the islands are stunning, and the water is crystal clear. On our previous trips, the barge followed along a canal or river. In Kvarner Bay, we cruised from island to island which enhanced the uniqueness of this trip. We booked the Barge Linda, which provided hybrid trail bikes and rated the trip moderate to difficult, so we opted for e-bikes for the first time. A wise decision for casual bikers of senior status!
The crew was outstanding! Everyone was friendly, considerate, and truly seemed to enjoy their jobs. The passengers all came with a cheerful attitude, ready to bike, make new friends, and embrace any experience that came with the adventure. The accommodations were comfortable and the food was tasty.
Our trail guides, Kristofor, Mario, and Aron, were not only very Read More professional, conscientious and concerned for our safety, but also fun, energetic, and totally delightful! Each daily ride offered unique scenery. We enjoyed breaks along the rides to browse, have a beverage, or swim in the bay. A highlight for many was the fun of diving off the barge when it was anchored! After a day of biking and dinner, the guides led us on tours of the towns, joined us for evening beverages, and surprised us with tastings of local specialties.
The webpage accurately represents our experience. We were blessed with good weather, so we saw and did everything as described on the itinerary.
This was our 5th Bike & Barge trip with Tripsite and not our last. All have been amazing!

My wife and I have used tripsite.com as a vacation organizer before and fully trusted them to plan an excursion for us that was going to be memorable, affordable and exciting. Tripsite scored top marks on all 3 points. Our trip was handled exceptionally well included a number of special requests for accommodations and transportation pick ups that where flawless.
Super impressed we will definitely plan through Tripsite again in the future. Thank you Thank you!!!

We arrived but the BORA sadly arrived at the same time. The crew prioritised our safety and kept us informed of change to itinerary and why. In respect of the Bora humbled by the storm we left feeling we had had a taste of Croatia and the Islands
