i loved biking through the country side and small towns. We would stop for ice cream and even visited a winery. It was nice having the guide, didn't have to think about where we had to go each day. Visiting all of the towns along the way tasting their food and beer and shopping in the small shops was fun. The boat had a good vibe and relaxing atmosphere.

We had a wonderful time aboard the MS Vivienne for this tour. The cabin was quiet and comfortable, no movement from the water. The food and staff aboard were wonderful. The cycling was beautiful, we got to visit several historic cities and we met some very nice people. We would definitely sign up for another bike and boat tour like this!

The scenery and the historical cities were so wonderful. Especially loved the last day of biking through wine country and small villages. Food was excellent, and accommodation was comfortable. Only complaint would be the lack of clear, English directions during our information sessions each evening. A guide out on the course would be recommended.

The bike ride scenery was almost 75% amazing, 25% was nice or ok. Having said that, I am an experienced cyclist but I do not enjoy riding on busy roads or in traffic. The meals were ample and enjoyable. It was so nice to come back from a ride and have a 3-4 course meal ready for you at dinner. The staff were lovely, attentive, and professional. The Prima Donna was our vessel. Very clean and comfortable. Large bathrooms, good water pressure, and temperature. It is important to look at the maps provided when you attend the route briefing. Keep questions to a minimum and directed toward route information. The bike I had was a pedal with electric assist and my 1st time using e assist. Great bike with comfy saddle, good gear shifting, brakes and panniers provided. Riding near Vienna was very busy on the bike paths. Stopping at a cafe when you see one on any ride, is worth stopping and enjoying the rest and good beer or coffee. My first ever “cruise” and it was just the type of experience I had hoped. We were a group of friends and siblings, and 12 of us. Great time.

My husband and I loved every minute of this bike and barge trip with Tripsite. The Swiss Crown is a beautiful ship equipped with lovely spacious rooms, lovely dining room and seating area and hot tub on the top level. The meals surpassed our expectations! From surf and turf to local cuisine. Each day the crew greeted us and looked after everything from room cleaning, expert dining experience, loading and unloading our bikes, presenting each day's travel suggestions, and offering fun nightly activities. Seriously, could not have been better. We have travelled extensively but this is the first time we did a bike and barge, and it won't be the last. We met wonderful people and experienced the countryside in a whole different way than by car or bus. It is a unique experience.

Do many things, the biking was amazing, the views and infrastructure and routes were exceptional. The staff was phenomenal and the chef made the best food from all other river cruises. We enjoyed the evening entertainment alot.

I loved this tour. The biking was easy, beautiful, and enough exercise that I felt I could eat lots of the delicious food onboard. The workers on board were helpful and friendly and they seemed to honestly enjoy their job and the visitors onboard.
- When did you take this tour?
- Sept 2025
- How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
- The trip was exactly as difficult as I expected. It was rated as easy, and it was. I took some alternate routes that were more difficult and I enjoyed them, but friends who didn’t want the extra work didn’t take them.

The first day and last day of biking were beautiful. The route the other days weren’t as nice.
The boat staff were wonderful and the food was delicious.
Only downside was having to be on the boat for a certain time as the boat moved all night long. I prefer the tours when the boat moves as we bike and stays in port all night. Nice for after dinner walk in towns.

Beautiful boat lobby and cabins. Rooftop deserves more time spent there. Front bar has lovely views. River tour of Budapest nightlights is fabulous. Bikes are excellent . 3/6 days we had to dock late because another boat was in our spot? Therefore we rarely had time to sightsee or make cafe’ stops during our bike days. I don’t understand this. Late September is perhaps not the best time for this tour?

Guides were great. Trip was very educational. Side tours were great even in the rain. Would to have more time to spend in each city. One day is just not enough to enjoy the local flavors.

This is an excellent bike and barge. The Vivienne was a beautiful boat with excellent staff. The schedule is well laid out, allowed time to enjoy the biking and scenery. The navigation app worked really well but take a phone holder for your bike so you can see the map. I have Bluetooth hearing aids so the directions were also provided by audio which was very helpful. That city bus tours were ok, if you are a city traveller you could have navigated both Budapest and Vienna on your own.
The cruise director has lots of information and will answer your questions…. If in doubt ask questions.
The food was amazing … you will not go hungry.

I loved everything about the trip except the hot tub was not very hot and the steam shower wasn't working. The food was presented so beautifully and staff were professional and lovely. The 2 night of karaoke and 70 and 80's night were good tobinteractvwith other guests.

There are so many choices out there when planning a bike and barge. I looked at numerous options and narrowed it down to two companies. I emailed the two companies and Tripsite responded immediately with a list of questions and suggestions. With a Trip Site Tour Specialist’s help (shout out to Claudia), we selected the bike/boat trip we just completed. Our Trip Site Tour Specialist answered our many questions as our group from Canada grew to being 17 individuals. Most of the Tour Specialist’s help was needed during the booking and payment process but even just prior to the trip, we had a couple of questions and Tripsite was just as committed to customer service at that point. Our experience from the planning to the actual trip was phenomenal. We were treated like royalty during the entire cruise. The rooms, food, entertainment, bike support….all exceeded our expectations. We will be repeat customers…many thanks to Tripsite.
- When did you take this tour?
- September 2025
- How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
- The difficulty level was perfect. We were a group of 16 seniors whose bike experience ranged from very experienced bikers to those with minimal biking experience. A few bikers in our group were initially anxious about the length or difficulty in advance but once we finished the first day everyone realized they could easily do the planned bike routes. At no time did we feel overwhelmed with the bike portion. 2 out of 16 in our group rented e-bikes but would have been fine without them.

We loved every part of this tour! The scenery along the Danube was incredible to bike through. Our rides through beautiful towns, villages and countryside were so picturesque and generally easy to follow.
The accommodations were luxurious - spotlessly clean and included everything we needed and the meals were delicious culinary delights.
But above all, the crew on board were fantastic from housekeeping to the ship musician. The crew was tireless in making sure we were comfortable and were so friendly and fun!
The only negative was that the wifi was non-existent to poor which had an impact on planning the next leg of our trip.
I would highly recommend and am looking forward to our next one!

Liked the disco night. The fourth ride was beautiful.
Meals were also good and super service.
My e-bike was too heavy for me- suggest a more compact and less heavy bike for smaller women. Also, we had wanted to book a guide for the 9 of us and there were only 2 on this boat. We would have enjoyed having one to eliminate getting lost and also helping us find fun locations to stop enroute. We did this on our Italian trip and it made a large difference to our enjoyment.
Your staff are very helpful and pleasant. Well done overall.

The caring staff, beautiful countryside and incredible sights made this bucket list trip awesome! The crew felt like family by the end of the trip and the biking was really fun rain or shine!
- When did you take this tour?
- September 18 - 28
- How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
- The biking difficultly was as expected. Im 60 and rented an ebike. I rode with and without pedal assist depending on the terrain and energy level. The marked bike paths were scenic and easy to follow. The navigation was sometimes trcky when a bike path ended or there was a detour.

Staff was amazing, wanted to help and please you al the time. Food was good. Meat portions could have been a bit bigger since we need lot’s of protein to bike. We need non guided and I would not do that again, missed the knowledge of the area that a guide provides.

Our group truly enjoyed the week on the Vivienne. The bike trails were well maintained and routes well marked which enabled us to enjoy the amazing scenery each day. The staff on Vivienne was incredible.
Two complaints were the e-bikes were very heavy
and there were no water bottle holders on the regular bikes.

We loved biking and seeing the breathtaking scenery of Austria, loved coming back to the Swiss Crown every afternoon for cake and coffee. The whole crew were wonderful - especially our waiters Ivo, Sonia, and Damjen. And the food was excellent!

Boat was nicely appointed and good clean cabins. A small gym room with some weights would be a nice addition Tomas was a superb guide. A great balance between local knowledge and keeping 18 riders moving at a comfortable pace. Leslie , the cruise director was always available and worked hard to keep us informed for the next day and volunteer ice packs when needed! Even a restocked bottle of our favourite gin was procured when the bar ran out! Crew were excellent; bikes were always on shore or back on the boat as needed. Service at meals and bar were first class. Bratislava was the most interesting city tour; being the place where the iron curtain came down. Budapest night walking tour was spectacular. We found the e-bikes to be very heavy and a 30 minute familiarisation on day one would have beeen good. 95% of the meals were good. Certainly the most scenic and interesting cycling that we have ever done. Total was about 205km in the week. Take care on the 2km long bridge on the second day. It’s a very narrow cycling track; best walked if comprised by height and traffic noise! Overall, we thoroughly recommend this tour.
- When did you take this tour?
- Aug/Sep 2025
- How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
- Easy terrain was a good description. Minimal hills. The main issue was the heavy e-bikes which were difficult to get going and not good for the narrow river bridge and congested cities. They were great on the open trails even though the 3rd level assist was disabled (for safety).

This was truly the best trip I’ve had in a long time! Everything about it was fantastic from the incredible sites We visited to the breathtaking biking routes. Every day was amazing. The experience on the boat was unforgettable, with outstanding staff, delicious food, and excellent service. Leslie, our cruise Director was absolutely top-notch. He was informative, funny and always ready to answer questions. Honestly, it’s hard to pick just one highlight because the entire trip was so special. I’ll definitely be recommending this adventure to all of my biking friends!

Biking the Wachou valley, outside Vienna. It was an incredible ride, with great places to stop along the way. The trip was great, the crew handled all those bikes great. Would have liked more time in some of the cities, and more diet options.
But, that’s being kinda picky, it was a great trip and would recommend.

The bikes were great. The crew took care of everything, answered any questions we had and provided insight to suggested stops along the way. Tripsite tour representative Kirsten went above and beyond to answer all our pre-trip questions. The routes were very picturesque, provided ample opportunity to explore the countryside and learn about the local cultures. The food was great and great suggestion to bring a container for lunch. We will definitely book again!
