Netherlands, Belgium
The Gandalf is a small passenger "green" barge with a delightful home-like atmosphere that is largely powered by the sun. Accommodating up to 20 passengers, it sails under the Dutch flag and has been drifting through the canals and waterways of Belgium and the Netherlands for many years.
Overview
The Gandalf has a total of ten twin cabins all having central heating, ventilation, and fully functioning windows.
The upper deck consists of a large common lounge area which includes a bar and dining area. The Gandalf also has two sundecks with tables, chairs, and sitting areas that make for the perfect spot to have a drink and enjoy the abundance of natural beauty as you drift toward your next destination.
The Gandalf is largely powered by a double-roof of solar panels, lessening the environmental footprint of the ship, and because it means the generator hardly needs to be used to power the ship, making the evenings still and quiet on board.

*NOTE: E-bikes feature a small electrical engine and battery that assist and ease your pedaling but you still have to pedal yourself. While riding an e-bike can greatly contribute to the enjoyment of your trip, it is not intended for untrained cyclists as it is not easy to handle such a bike. The engine and battery make the bike much heavier than a regular bike and it also accelerates faster. Handling it well requires good basic cycling skills and confidence. You may bring your own electric bike. A small parking and charging fee will appy.
Other bikes (e.g. bikes with back pedal brakes, children’s bikes, “slip streamers”, tandems, etc.) and rear child seats may be possible upon request and are in very limited numbers.
