Aare River, from the Swiss Alps to the Rhine Tour Reviews — 1 to 2 of 2

It was so exciting coming down the Alps on the first day! Absolutely stunning views. And cowbells could be heard constantly! Such amazing scenery, especially the lake in Iseltwald. We had the most spectacular view at dinner. We had a flat tire on one day but the local tour company helped us find the nearest train station to get us to a bike shop for help. We take these bike trips yearly and are excited for next year’s adventure!

The scenery was spectacular. Many days the ride was on beautifully maintained country roads, many of them unpaved that wound through farms where the cows’ bells sounded like music. Other times we biked along the river and watched beautiful swans and birdlife. The first days ride down Grimselpass was scary/exhilarating with such a long downhill. Be prepared for loud motorcycles zooming by you and be careful in the tunnels. City navigating, esp Bern, was tricky finding our hotels at times.
