It was a wonderful experience, the landscape, villages and all the trip was great. You can enjoy every part of the road. Is important to be fit because you can find hills and some days you have to be able to make 70 km but when you arrive to the town the first thought was: is worthy.
The routes are well designed, the bike in good condition so all you need is to enjoy.
I recommended so much if you love the nature and the history!
Thanks to the team of tripsite!

· Prague to Dresden - A Tale of Two Rivers
We had a great experience on this trip! We chose the Standard hotel package, and overall the accommodations were excellent. Here's where we stayed:
Prague – Hotel DAP
Melnik – Pension U Zámku
Litomerice – Pension Dubina
Decin – Hotel Česká Koruna
Bad Schandau/Krippen – Hotel Erbgericht
Dresden – Hotel Martha
Our favorite stops were Prague and Melnik. Prague was incredibly clean, walkable, and felt very safe. Hotel DAP is about half a mile from Prague Castle, and walking to the main sites was easy and enjoyable.
Melnik is a charming little wine town perched above a valley, and sipping local wine right next to the vines it came from—while enjoying that view—was a definite highlight.
The one hotel we didn’t love was in Krippen. To be fair, it was raining that day and we didn’t feel like taking the ferry into Bad Schandau, but the hotel itself felt a bit dated and in need of some updates.
As for the biking: the Czech bike paths vary quite a bit. One minute you’re on a smooth trail, the next you're riding along a road with traffic, a dirt path, or a bumpy gravel section. The terrain is also hillier than expected, and sometimes you don’t get much notice before a climb.
We’re in our mid-30s, not regular cyclists but pretty active (we’re runners), and we did the tour on standard bikes. There were definitely a few hills where we had to hop off and walk the bikes. The standard bikes were a bit heavy and could have used some chain lube and a tune up. If that doesn’t sound ideal, I’d recommend going with the e-bike option for a smoother ride.
Weather-wise, we got lucky—just a little rain, and temps were mild overall. Most hotels didn’t have AC, so it got a bit stuffy at night, but opening a window helped.
All in all, we loved the tour and highly recommend it. The scenery, towns, and experiences made it a trip we’ll always remember.

Feedback:
1. The WhatsApp group were very good & followed up any issues or queries
2. The bike handover was a bit tricky as Simon had limited English & apart from bike matters didn’t seem fully versed in addressing some initial queries by someone that had never done a self guided bike tour
3. Inappropriate bike hire: the Agogs City Liner e-bike was ergonomically unsuitable for a bike tour of over 800km.
The seat angle & the handle bars meant I was very upright. It was uncomfortable.
A more appropriate style is that of a touring bike configuration, in which you are leaning forward and able to propel easily & with comfort.
4.Having 2 app’s - Ride GPS & Trip Plans a bit tedious to go in & out of for directions & guidance plus more draining on phone
5. An overnight in any large city is not enough time. A suggestion that 2 nights be factored into itinerary for say Vienna.

Klarà, our principal guide was awesome! She was always handy, solved all issues with a big smile on her face. Martin and Toni also very good but they left us in Vienna. Fine scenery, hotels, food, weather, etc...
Only one pitfall: we got other 2 guides after Vienna. One of them did not have a guide attitude, one example: the group that do not speak the local language was struggling to make the other in a restaurant and he was not helpful at all, he just got a beer for himself and walked out of the place. If you need more detail, please contact me.

I liked that the lodgings were often local, with a historic flavor of Czech or Poland, rather than bland international chain hotels. Having the breakfasts and dinners included was great, so convenient and we liked all the meals. The riding routes were very nice, with good scenery, small villages and minimum busy roads. Riding surfaces were often bumpy so the Specialized Diverge bikes we rode were a good match for conditions. The GPS routes worked perfectly, loaded onto my Garmin 1040. The phone APP was brilliant, with so much helpful info and the link to RidewGPS was great, even though I was using my Garmin. We wished we had requested a rest day in Olomouc; it is an interesting town and a break from so many consecutive days of riding would be nice.

Disappointed that twin beds werr not provided on several occasions and that we had to get that sorted. The quality of some hotels was also not greaT as in tiny room, inadequate facilities and as already said, not suitable for 2 individuals travelling together. I think you should upgrade the ebike option as well. A city style ebike for an 800 km ride is ridiculous, un comfortable and ineffecient. The luggage transfer was excellent and the navidation with RWGPS worked.

This is one of my favorite trips I have ever taken! We did the self-guided tour and had zero problems navigating, even with a detour due to construction. The tour was well supported (bags were at our hotels way before 4), communication was quick and responsive to any issues encountered, routes are gorgeous with lots of potential to stop and see extra sites on the side. My husband is NOT cyclist and it was manageable and fun for him too! The hotels are great; the breakfasts that are included are substantial and delicious. 10/10 recommend and would love to do another route in the future.

A fantastic trip from one great city to another. The route was extremely well planned, making use of the vast network of cycleways in both countries (putting the UK to shame!). Although the surface quality was generally very good there some rough sections where the hybrid or gravel bikes came into their own. If you are used to a road style bike with drop handle bars I would definitely opt for the gravel bike as the best overall option as it handled the off-road sections well but was faster and lighter on good surfaces and hills.
The route is well planned to select interesting and historic towns for the overnight stops with the hotels always being close to the centres. A highlight is the quality of the support provided by both Tripsite beforehand and the guides during the tour. Lukas gave us a very detailed introduction and was always in touch throughout the journey to make sure everything was going well. The Tripsite App gave us lots of very useful information and the gps files made route following a breeze.
Thankyou team for a great experience

It’s challenging to pinpoint only one favorite. Overall: the floral fragrances, the reflections of pastel painted homes in the river, the stark contrast between fields of flowers and wheat vs cavernous mountains.

I enjoyed using the supplied route sheets and of course the all important ride with gps. This allowed us to travel at our own pace and stop when and where we wanted. The route along rivers let us pass through varied terrain, from agricultural lands to steep walled "canyons". We stayed mostly at Inns in small towns which were quiet and picturesque. The Czech Republic is a gem and I would recommend visiting, no matter how you get there.

A great route with such history and two great cities! Would highly recommend not only the route, but the tour company. I was provided with Ride with GPS files in advance and a host of maps and other information upon arrival in Prague. They also use the "Trip Plans" app, which not only gives you the routes, but historical and other information about the towns you will be passing through and restaurant recommendations!
Great communication during the ride as well - even making a route change along the way due to road construction (they updated the Ride with GPS file in seemingly real time).
I have done a dozen or so self-guided solo bike trips around the world and often have had very little support - this team made it easy and they were always just a WhatsApp text or call away.
Looking at booking my next tour with them now...
Thanks!

This was a fun and memorable tour with enough options to keep even fast cyclists (which my wife and I aren't) engaged and occupied beyond the daily pedal. And the Ride with GPS app supplied by the agency, with all the rides preloaded, removed the worry and stress of missing turns and taking wrong forks, with detailed instructions and maps serving as a backup. There was a bit of confusion about the dinner vouchers - we at first assumed, wrongly, that they covered drinks. Also, when one restaurant we had vouchers for us in Dresden turned out to be closed for renovations, we were told to walk thirty minutes to an affiliate restaurant - that refused to honor the vouchers. Despite this miscommunication, all ended well when the agency gave us new vouchers for our last dinner in Prague, which was as not in our contract. I would ride with this tour operator again for their prompt and courteous service, as well as for their outstanding planning and execution.

We loved the trip. Lovely scenery and fascinating sites to see along the way. Accommodations were delightful and we stayed at some lovely old residences. Bikes went well and the GPX tracks made all the difference and we had no problem navigating along the various trails and roads. We so appreciated how responsive the local bike company was and if we had any queries we could send a message on WhatsApp and we received a reply straight away

The route took us past many memorable sites. The historic sites were selected to provide a portrayal of most aspects of history and culture. The towns and villages were charming and the country roads connecting them provided a good sense of the Czech and Austrian way of life.
There were multiple issues with one of the bicycles including brakes that needed adjusting and a seat post bolt that needed replacing. We rode in mostly rainy conditions and had to stop and buy chain oil to clean the chain. Both issues could have been alleviated by a thorough check of the bike and providing chain oil and rags to keep the bikes clean. And, these deficiencies made for a painful ride and significantly detracted from the joy of the trip.
It would have been helpful to receive the Ride With GPS routes via email earlier. We spent an hour or more a day trying to match the written description of highlights of the route with their location on the GPS route. We linked the highlighted site with the mileage and wrote out our own itinerary. Additionally, the written information should be rewritten by a person who is a native speaker, who can write direct sentences and use essential English grammar.

Our guide and van driver were VERY knowledgable and accommodating to our needs!
Our group was comprised of 13 participants, 1 guide, and one support vehicle driver.
Unfortunately, there was flooding in central Europe during our stay. Several of the bike routes were closed but our guide made the best out of detours and rerouting due to flooding.
However, the bikes were poorly maintained. According to the guide the company AVE was not expecting ALL participants to choose E-bikes (Even though 70% of participants had booked in February and June) Thus, there was a shortage, and the company had to borrow e-bikes from other sources. Consequently, there were at least 4 different e-bike makes/models where parts could not be interchanged. Bike chains jumping off the gear occurred routinely 4-5 bikes a day. Some e-bikes had major gear shifting problems and other performance issues. Our guide and driver did an incredible job keeping us all "in the saddle" , bike saddle that is.... :)
We had opted for the hotel accommodation upgrade. The first and last hotel were meeting our expectations, but the other three hotel stays were disappointing. I would recommend using the regular accommodations.
The hotel “Clement” in Prague was excellent, the breakfast choices too numerous to list, and the location was ten minutes to the Old Town.
Near the hotel is the restaurant “Usadlu”, where the majority of patrons are locals. We had an unforgettable meal in the “Dungeon” , about 2 floors below ground in this venue!
One Tip: If you are 65 or older you get to use all public transportation in Prague free of charge.
The Vienna Hotel was centrally located: 3-4 Metro stations from the Karl's Platz and Stefan's Platz.
The city was easily negotiated by walking everywhere.
Despite the bike problems, we had a wonderful time and would like to do another bike tour!
It was an incredible experience!!

We enjoyed the whole experience! At the end of day 1 my wife said I could do this again - that didn’t change. Our group leaders (and support team) had to manage the impact of flooding and gave us a memorable experience - they couldn’t have tried harder. E-bikes made it accessible for less experienced or older riders but it still requires many hours in the saddle. Don’t expect to lose much weight as the food was plentiful and excellent. The WhatsApp group created for us made it easy to keep in contact. We are so pleased to have picked this tour!

Make sure you don't get booked on s boat as a hotel, dirty and bugs. They say gravel bikes but they are not. They do not send a mechanic to set up bike, just a tour guide who knows nothing. Bike was dirty and needed oiling. They said safety checked but found issues when given the bike. If traveling in pairs they only give you one copy even though you paid full price for both. They also only give one lock when we were told each would get one. Printed map and instructions not accurate. No instructions to specific hotels. Breakfast and luggage pick up times do not align.

The TripSite team took care of all the details, was responsive to questions, and made our trip easy and worry free. Prague to Dresden was our second trip and we hope to book many more. We select the upgraded hotels and add on extra nights for an even better experience. The new navigation app made biking even easier. Advice to bikers: do your homework on the suggested side trips - some were nothing burgers but a couple were spectacular and worth the time.

· Spa Triangle & Prague
The Spa Triangle biking tour - late August 2024 was more rigorous than we anticipated...lots of hills. Four of us went and we are in our mid-late 50's. Two of us chose acoustic bikes and two got electric bikes. This worked out well because we are all around the same height and could switch off as necessary. Plus the electrics carried the paniers with all the food/snacks, drinks and all extras.
A couple things I'd like to mention. The Trip site partners were very friendly and for the most part very responsive. Sometimes there was a language challenge, but we got through it. We upgraded to the Superior Hotel category and glad we did because we can't imagine what the lower category would have gotten us. With that said, the first hotel: Schlosspark in Karlovy Vary was very dated and in 1 of the 2 rooms, the air conditioning was not working properly and it was very warm on our first night. We mentioned to the front desk and were told a technician would come by. By the time we returned after dinner, the room was still very hot and we mentioned again but were told there was nothing they could do. I then reached out to our Trip Site partners and they said they would speak with the hotel. The hotel offered another room but it too had no a/c. We were promised an upgraded room the next night. I ended up putting my mattress on the floor of the room my sister & cousin were in to be able to get a comfortable night sleep before our first day of cycling. As far as the "upgraded" room...it was equally dated and had a tub instead of a shower but it did have it's own mini-split for a/c.
Our riding that day was greeted with perfect weather and we had a picnic lunch at what looked like a castle. We also passed a nice covered bridge along the route. The one thing we definitely wish we had known and been advised of is that the only place in the Spa Triangle with Thermal spas is Karlovy Vary. The other towns you will stay/visit do not offer the thermal baths. Unfortunately, we didn't find this out until we were at the next town. The town itself is lively and we happened to be there at the time of a music and wine festival and lucked out with all the music in and around the town.
The next town of Frantiskovy Lazne was all painted in yellow and we stayed at the Spa & Kur Hotel Harvey which was by far the best hotel of the 3. It was the most modern and best breakfast spread. Although, don't get spa services here, they were disappointing...lots of oil being rubbed all over and nothing more. The town is sleepy but beautiful. There are lots of green parks in this town as well. Our rides from this town included stopping at Soos, a nature preserve to see natural springs. On our final day here, we biked out through the town of Cheb which was lovely and then had another picnic lunch at a church stop that had picnic tables. We also saw a herd of elk and ram along this route which was a wonderful surprise. SHOW MORE
Our last town, Marianske Lazne was hilly. We stayed at the Gourmet Hotel Villa Patriot which was again dated and beware, has no a/c. Fortunately, it had cooled off a bit by this point and having the windows open to sleep was sufficient. This town is known for its singing fountain which was under construction while we were there. Our last day of riding, 2 of us took the ski lift to the top of the hill - acoustic bikes and 2 electric bikes climbed the giant hill (electric can't use the ski lift). We then stopped at the monastery in Tepla and finished in Becov where we took the train back to Marianske Lazne. By this day, we were all tired and wanted a shorter ride.
***there were 2 times when we were faced with a detour on our route. We reached out to the team and they helped us navigate back on course. They were very responsive both times. Just to let you know the route may not always be the route, but no need to worry, the team is there for you.
We started this journey 1.5 days early in Prague and ended in Prague for 1 day before heading home. If you have the time, I'd recommend this option, which we secured for ourselves. Trip site partners were very accommodating in picking us up at our hotel in Prague and dropping us off at our hotel in Prague. We made our own way to/from the airport.
I would use Tripsite again for booking another vacation!

Had a wonderful time on the bike trip, it was an excellent way to see the countryside and small towns along the way. The hotels were very nice, right in the center of things. We would certainly do this trip again.
The only issues we had were occasional navigational problems, particularly on the first day, but for the most part the route was easy to follow on dedicated bike paths. Having a data plan for Europe is a must as that can solve a lot of navigation issues.
Overall this was an outstanding experience for us, and it is an excellent way to travel and really get to know the local area.

I enjoyed all of the villages/cities I stopped in and the lodgings were excellent. My pannier was broken and it was replaced right away which was much appreciated. Several of the GPS maps had sections which did not accurately reflect the route or were confusing. One route did not indicate that a very large road construction project was in progress and it took me an hour to figure out how to get back on track. Parts of the routes were marked as unpaved and while true, several miles of the unpaved roads were difficult to navigate. That being said, I always was able to find my final destination.

Our group of four completed the nine-day Prague to Vienna Tour from 21st to 29th June 2024. Our experience was wonderful and memorable. We highly recommend this tour!
First, we had good support in the lead up to our tour and during it. All of our questions were promptly answered, both before we made reservations and when a few issues arose during the tour.
Second, the tour was very well organised. We had a detailed briefing and support before we started. Clear group communication was set up on WhatsApp among our group and with the tour’s support team. We were given maps and written guides for the ride each day, which pointed to tourist highlights and places to eat. Our rides were guided by Ride with GPS on our phones (bring a lithium battery to extend your phone’s life each day). Each bike had a phone mount to facilitate the use of Ride with GPS. The bikes and equipment were very good quality. We never worried about a breakdown. We were quickly back on the road after a punctured tire because we had the right tools for the job. In short, we never felt like we were on our own, even though we had no guide on the road.
Third, we found the daily routes, and options, to be outstanding. Each daily destination was a notable place to visit. We rode mainly along roads, and also on paved cycle paths, gravel and, at times, trails. My partner and I chose the extra distance routes whenever they were available, whereas the other couple on our tour selected the shorter options that catered to their interests. This is a tour for experienced cyclists with a good level of fitness, not novices or casual tourists.
Fourth, the accommodation was very good. We chose the upgraded facilities and were happy with all of them. Each day, they were close to the main historical or cultural sites. We could easily visit them, usually by walking or riding up to the castle at Vranov and Dyji.
We were very fortunate that we had very good weather. It only rained briefly on two days. I suspect that the riding would have been fine if it was wet, except for a few short stretches when we encountered rough cobbles or when we rode on short trails that linked roads or riding paths. We were well prepared for wet weather and would not have been challenged had it rained.
If we had to do it over again, then we make a few changes. We would use TripSite partner hotels before and after the tour. This would facilitate early briefing before we started the tour and easier hand-over of bikes when we were finished. We had planned to use .GPX files on our Garmin GPS units. Unfortunately, we didn’t download local maps onto our GPS units before we travelled, so that wasn’t feasible. We rented road bikes because that’s what we ride at home. There were places when a gravel bike would have been a better choice. One member of our group rode an e-bike. This made the rides less physically demanding. SHOW MORE
