costal vistas were incredible! The back roads were well selected and mostly easy to navigate. Hotels were all wonderful, especially the breakfasts. Mileage each day was just about right…. Not too challenging, but not a lazy day ride either. We loved southern Portugal and plan to return again soon.

This trip showcases the great gravel riding in southern Portugal. Our group really enjoyed the tour.

Excellent trip - Baiona and Santiago de Compostela were definite highlights.

So many highlights! The route select was incredible, keeping us on quiet dirt roads or bike paths for much of the time. The hotels were also all amazing, boutique style hotels with excellent service and in one case watching the sunset over the Atlantic from a warm rooftop pool! The ride from Nazare to Obidos was my favorite, with spectacular views up as we climbed out of Nazare, a fun descent for lunch to the Salgado Beach, and then beautiful views above the coast for miles after that!

This was an excellent trip with amazing scenery during bike rides. I would highly recommend this trip as a great way to add to your experience of the Duoro valley. The tour guide was excellent and added to the experience.

The entire trip was memorable. We loved that most of the biking were on beautiful coastal trails. The views were phenomenal and the people from Portugal are so warm and friendly. I would recommend this bike trip to anyone wanting to do coastal trip.

The bike and boat trip on the Douro River was a very memorable experience. The bike rides were scenic through towns, natural areas, vineyards, and olive groves. Our guide Nuno was skilled, informative, and made the trip fun for all. The ship is modern, rooms are spacious, food was excellent, and the staff were helpful and friendly.

We signed up for the self-guided 8-day hiking tour on Sao Miguel Island, Portugal. The itinerary was well planned with accommodations in two different hotels, the Octant Hotels in Furnas and another hotel in Ponta Delgada. The Octant Hotel had great breakfast buffets to start the day and thermal pools at the end of our hiking days. Each of the 5 hikes were different and provided a challenge with their ascents and descents as well as opportunity to marvel at the landscapes. It was well planned to have a whale/dolphin watching excursion mid-week to give the body a break in hiking days. We appreciated the Ride with GPS app that was pre-populated with the hiking routes along with extra information about what to expect and see along the route. The Trip Plan app also provided good information, which we used throughout the trip. Tripsite representatives were quick to respond to our questions. It was a fabulous hiking adventure and would definitely recommend it.

All the hikes were fantastic. The transfers were made easy and dependable. The accommodations were great. Tripsite's attention to details made our trip very enjoyable.

There were so many memorable parts to our trip it is hard to choose one. We loved riding along the incredibly beautiful seashore of Portugal. We stayed in some amazing hotels. We ate the local food of Galicia and tried so many foods that we never would have ordered at home. We rode on every kind of surface imaginable and enjoyed seeing all the walking pilgrims. On arrival in Santiago Compostela we found the cathedral magnificent. It was a fabulous trip. Thank you to our superb guides!

The off road biking was the most memorable. The GPS worked perfectly!
The e-bikes are essential for a comfortable ride! Our luggage always arrived ahead of us an usually already in our room!

We did the Wild Portugal 11 day trip on ebikes. Tripsite was top notch. Organization of trip and all communications were flawless. The bikes were great as were the accommodations and luggage transport. Everything ran like clockwork. It was our first trip like this and totally impressed us.

In retrospect, it would have been good to request a day off in the middle of the 9 days of biking which would have been easy to arrange---we just didn't think of it in advance.. At least for us old folks, a day off the bike would have been refreshing. Ride with GPS on our iPhone worked great. Thanks to the tour operator for that suggestion. The off road segments on ebikes were worth doing as there was very little traffic, generally scenic and with the exception of short stretches of deep loose sand very ridable. We were a group of 6 from Iceland in beginning of June 2024. Wonderful trip. Excellent professional and personal service. Would warmly recommend and use their service again.

The hotels were wonderful, we navigated better with ride with gps app. We had an amazing experience

Our Coastal Camino experience (self-guided) was truly amazing! The incredible scenery, the amazing hotels, and the connections we made wth fellow pilgrims from around the world. The tour company in Portugal was very responsive and went out of their way to ensure our experience was special. We stayed in the most incredible locations, including a fortress, a castle and an incredible old textile mill that has been converted into a literal ‘Garden of Eden’ with its own waterfall. We loved walking 5-6 hours per day (very achievable) and the routes were so beautiful (they took our breath away). Arriving at the Santiago de Compostela was an emotional and joyous experience. This trip exceeded our expectations and we are already planning our next Camino adventure!

The bicycle rides through the beautiful Douro valley countryside were incredibly scenic and not to be missed.

The most memorable parts of our trip were riding down from high in the mountains through the vineyards to the Douro River each day. Nuno and Matias ,our tour guides, were outstanding hosts and companions for our entire experience.They worked very hard to make sure that everything ran smoothly in order for us to maximize the enjoyment of our bike rides. The views and scenery on each ride were simply breathtaking, as the routes had been very carefully planned to be not only safe ,but stunning for miles and miles at a time.

The scenery was amazing, the food was outstanding, and the group of riders and guides we were with really made the trip special. The roads were a mix of paved and dirt, hilly and flat, some, especially on the first few days, were bit sandy, enough to have to walk it in some short sections, but overall a good, well-planned route. I highly recommend this tour, it's one of our favorites!

This is a wonderful trip and you definitely need e-bikes. The scenery is really nice and the bikes we had were simply amazing. We have e-bikes at home and the Scott e-bikes were far superior to ours. There are steep up and downs and easily half are on paths. Also, you come across a lot of walkers and you’ll need to work your way past them but you just have to be patient at times when the path is wet or narrow. Everyone was super nice in allowing us to pass. You do need more than basic riding skills for this ride. The hotels were great, the people along the way were awesome and locals are super. There are plenty of places to stop and get something to eat or drink along the way. The bike shop that sets up everything did a great job with the daily check ins, transfers to/from the airport and the GPS maps. They gave us a small GPS that proved very valuable and the routes took us to the hotel each day. The cathedral in Santiago was jaw dropping. To get in (free) it’s around the side.
We loved this and would encourage anyone to consider it. We did the 9 day and we were really glad we did as the 40 mile day would’ve been too much with the trails.

The ship Alva is incomparable to any other boat/ barge tour we've ever taken. It was of equal quality to a Viking Cruise regarding the rooms, food service, staffing
and overall quality. The boat was large enough (120 passenger) to provide nice features such as a small spa, exercise room, sauna, outside and inside sitting areas and pool. The majority of passengers were there to cruise, there were 11 bikers. We really enjoyed te size of our small cohesive bike group.

The biking tour guides were wonderful and so is Portugal. Porto is a great little city with a long history. Go to the WOW cultural district and check out a few of the contemporary museums there if you have time. We enjoyed the E-bikes; a must in this mountainous terrain. My only comment regarding the bike riding
itself is that most rides were too short (+/- 10 miles and 2- 3 hours) and many were mainly down hill. We had to revise the two longest rides due to weather, unfortunately. Not the tour companies fault, but we would have enjoyed more riding time. We loved cruising down the Duoro, admiring the extensively planted hillsides and large vineyards. The local people we encountered at every stop were nice and welcoming.

This was an amazing boat bike tour. This was our 5th boat/bike trip with Tripsite. Our Guides Nuno and Fabian were great and took us to beautiful interesting rides along the Douro River. We were a group of 11 bikers. 8 were friends from Virginia and the three women who joined us were friends from Montana. We all had a great time together. This is the first time not everyone biked on our trip. This boat was much bigger than our other one. Their were 126 passengers.

The scenery was unbelievable. I came up over a rise and caught a salt breeze in my face and was in tears of joy.

We had a fantastic trip. Riding along the coast of southern Portugal was absolutely breathtaking. The route was clear and the app and GPS made navigating a breeze. We felt fully supported by Tripsite when two members of our group got sick and needed to take the day off riding. Tripsite made sure we had transportation and checked in to make sure we were satisfied. The route was at times challenging for us, a group of 60+ year olds, but it was enjoyable. Many days the rides were more like mountain biking than street biking. The bikes we were given were more than adequate for the task but there were some rough patches of sand, gravel, steep ups and downs that made the adventure challenging a bit beyond what we had expected. Overall, we absolutely loved the trip and look forward to another Tripsite supported adventure in the future!

Madeiral was stunning! The Tripsite staff and the drivers they hire were so helpful and accommodating. The hikes were a bit challenging at times-not sure I would rate them as easy! I would definitely recommend good shoes/boots and poles. And the accommodations were so amazing! A very memorable trip-I would highly recommend.

The places where we stayed overnight were beautiful towns and villages. The staff who ran the transport were amazing and kind.

The routes were varied and extraordinary. Some villages, some countryside and some off road exploration of ancient trails. The guides; Horacio and Kevin knew their paths and made accommodations for various skill levels. The scenery was breathtaking.

The coastal views we accessed on our ride were stunning. The routes we took gave us access to an insider view of Portugal’s agriculture and small town charms. The hotels we stayed at were 5 star and the breakfasts were world class!

Everything was memorable! The bike paths were empty and spacious, the views were phenomenal along the ocean , the hotels and breakfasts were great, bikes were comfortable and high quality and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort from beginning to end.

The vistas were fantastic from all over Madeira. The two different sides of the island had two totally different water features. Some were rugged and straight into the water while others had calmer waters. The vegetation was beautiful. Very hilly which makes for dramatic views.

This was our first trip with Tripsite and we had such an amazing time that we have already booked another one. The coastline was beautiful, the accommodations were unique, the bikes were in excellent shape. Our guides Miguel, Berto and Pedro were awesome and by the end of the trip felt more like friends than guides. We rented E-bikes which I am glad we did. There was a nice mix of trail and country road biking with some sections that were a little challenging but that is all part of the fun. I would highly recommend this trip and would encourage E bikes.
