Albanian Highlights
Albania
Albanian Highlight was an amazing bike tour. The fellow cyclist were a wonderful bunch and we all got on so well. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and because of him the cycle tour ran so smoothly. Also a shout out to our van driver who did a wonderful job as well. My husband and i would highly recommend this cycle tour and we are already planning our next cycle trip.

Bruges to Amsterdam Bike Tour
Belgium, Netherlands
Bikes allow a good level of immersion into local culture. The Netherlands provides a great example of a prosperous, healthy and environmentally aware society. My observations are purely anecdotal but we in the US could learn a lot by following the example set by these kind and thoughtful people. I would recommend the Tripsite unguided bike tour from Bruges to Amsterdam to anyone. All arrangements and accommodations were fabulous.

Highlights of Northern Zealand

The destination cities are interesting to visit: architecture, history and beautiful cemetery parks. The hotel accommodations were good but in several instances away from historical attractions and sites. Unseasonal weather handicapped the cycling. The baggage transfer service was efficient and timely. Roskilde and Helsingoer were memorable.

Danube Bike Path - Vienna to Budapest
Austria, Hungary, Slovakia
Here are some thoughts for improvements for your next guests. These by no means took away from our enjoyment and are meant for future trips.
-- The hotels in general were nice. A few issues here and there (mostly normal stuff).
-- In Hainburg - Altes Kloster - there was no individually controlled AC. It was fine for us because the night was cool.
-- The breakfasts at all the hotels were excellent
-- In Esztergom, the Portobello Hotel was not so great. The hotel room actually smelled bad. My wife says it smelled like old shrimp. They sent someone up with a spray can which they left for us. That "hid" the smell for a while, and you got used to it. But when you stepped back in the room from outside you could clearly Read More smell the mustiness. Also there was no coffee maker in the room (which is always a nice thing to have). We did OK there, but I'd recommend a different hotel for future guests.
-- Traveling by train from Gyor to Komarom was interesting. No elevators and no escalators. We had to carry bikes up and over (or down and under) the tracks to get to the platform. This is the kind of thing it would have been nice to know ahead of time.
-- There was no ferry service from Szentendre to Budapest. We ended up taking the train. While the docs say you might have to take the train, I think it would have been nice to have been told ahead of time that there would not be a boat.
-- Perhaps too, a little more heads up about possible river flooding and the need for detours (honestly, the guy we met with the bikes may have mentioned this. I'm just bring it up as a "nice to know" tip for future guests.
Again, none of these took away from *our* trip (except maybe the Portobello Hotel). As a bike guide these are the kinds of thing we like to look for and inform our guests about ahead of time.
And yes... we will see you on another adventure soon! We had a blast!
Thanks

Highlights of Northern Zealand
Denmark, Sweden
Hard to list one thing - many museums in Copenhagen and the canal boat ride; maritime museum in Helsingor, Viking ship village in Roskilde, riding along the sea, fine breakfasts, friendly and helpful Danish people. It was a bit hillier than I expected on a couple of days. Printed and phone app instructions were excellent.

Around Stockholm - Land of Lakes & Castles
Sweden
The Steamboat ride from Mariefred to Stockholm was quite entertaining. We made the mistake of renting Ebikes....not a good idea. Cycling was very scenic..........hotels in Trosa and Mariefred were excellent......guides at castles were highlights of the trip. Take at least an hour tour in Gripsholms. Cycle paths were gravely and a bit difficult for many of us with Ebikes.....except for the few folks who had very new light weight models. Bottom line, I want to rate trip 'excellent' but we made it less so by choosing ebikes even though Tripsite tried to steer us away from this decision!!

Danube Bike Path - Vienna to Budapest
Austria, Hungary, Slovakia
tripsite was always a little confused and there were mistakes made, we got our info the day we arrived for the first day of our tour. The hotel did not know a thing about our packets, and again I had to make a call on vacation. The person that showed up was clueless about bikes did not know how to put on pedals or adjust the seat. He did not have our train tickets as someone forgot to put them in the packet. one of the bikes was missing a fender and a bag. The hotels were hit or miss. The Stockl hotel was dirty and smelly, we both got a rash that was scaly and itchy. I had to call Euro bikes to get our train tickets again. As they forgot to digitally send them. ,( second time). The directions were hit or miss. Gps was better. I have done many bike tours and I loved the Danube tour just need a more organized company. Electric bikes worked great!!
castles were great!

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for your feedback. I apologize that you felt we were "always a little confused" and details were missed. This was a very last minute booking and your final travel information was sent to you the day you submitted your final payment - 2 days before the trip. I realize it may have been frustrating that you were confused upon arrival at your first hotel.
Overall I'm happy you loved the Danube and I hope you were able to bring home many fond memories of your trip! - Carla

Camino de Santiago E-Bike Tour

First of all, the bikes were outstanding. My wife has used many e bikes and she loved this one. The mountain bike I was given was also excellent. The three Paradors, (Santiago, Baiona and Pontevedra) were each outstanding. The path was extremely varied. Everything from smooth pavement to loose gravel. Some walking is likely. The shore-side or through wooded paths or through small villages sites were great.

Scenic Coastal Route from Amsterdam to Bruges
Netherlands, Belgium
Before starting, we thought we could average around 18 km/h but in reality, we were closer to the 15-16 km/ average pretty much every day. Main reasons for that were :
1. Head winds (sometimes quite strong) more than half of the time which slow you down
2. Stopping/starting to take pictures, admire the scenery. Every time you stop, you have to get back up to speed.
3. Cycling through towns and villages, you can't go very fast as there are Read More pedestrians and you are cycling on (sometimes very) uneven coblestones.
4. Getting lost. The GPS worked quite well in the country side but not as well once in larger cities. Not all wrong detours were the GPS fault though!
Some tips :
- Leave early if you would like to make some stops along the way (take a coffee, visit a windmill, etc.) and not arrive at your destination at 6 PM. This is especially true if you want to visit something at your end destination for the day as most attractions close around 5 PM.
- Plan your next day's itinerary the night before. Some days there aren't many lunch options along the way so make sure your timing is right. On day 3, we ended up doing a little more than 40 kms before lunch and ate around 2:30 PM because the area where we wanted to stop turned out to be a commercial area with no place to eat.
- Expect to do a few more kms every day because of wrong turns, things to visit, etc.
- Have a data plan. For us, because the GPS didn't always work so well in town, that's what we used to get to the hotels 4 of the 6 days.
- As mentioned in the documentation on how to prepare, make sure you are saddle ready. Based on our experience, the most difficult/painful day was the second one. After that, it got better every day.
Overall, we loved our experience and we highly recommend this tour without hesitation.

The weather went North: 14C feeling like 12, very windy gusts of plus 45 km/h and rain for 10 days now. So wonderful train service replaced the bicycles. We prepared for 17 to 22 C weather so our clothing was inappropriate.

Catalonian Flavors of the Mediterranean
Spain
The tour route was for the most part easy to follow and had little exposure to traffic. The trip takes you through a lot of the highlights of the area and if you love wild flowers you will be overjoyed. The hotels were quite nice but you may want to upgrade your room in some places so you can get an ocean view instead of the parking lot. Our only complaint was related to the bikes. The ebikes had slicks on them and these heavy bikes would skid a lot on the loose gravel. The regular bikes didn't have front end shocks and some of the trails were filled with broken jagged pavement that jarred the wrists significantly.

Bruges to Amsterdam Bike Tour

The route is carefully planned to include as much rural bike paths and beautiful country side. As someone who grew up in the Netherlands, I am very impressed in the careful planning of green and agricultural area versus urbanization. The route led us via these green parts of the Netherland I hadn't experienced before. The cultural aspect in the selection of stop=over cities is also noteworthy and admirable.
All in all a great trip and highly recommendable.

Lake Garda & the Adige River
Italy
My wife and I had already taken the trip from Bolzano to Venice.
This year we invited three more couples and did the upper part of the Adige River, which was fantastic!
From Bolzano to Vernona is also a spectacle and, even passing through for the second time, neither the river nor we are the same.
Pure enjoyment, even though I cycled one day with heavy rain.
I highly recommend this tour.

Beautiful landscape and cultural events of National day. We had 9 days of warm weather 60-70s with only a half of rain one morning. This was unusual according to many locals with whom we talked. The contrast between the snow cover mountains and the roads along the fjords was extraordinary.

Bruges to Amsterdam Bike Tour
Belgium, Netherlands
Route: nice combination of countryside and small towns. The GPS tracks that were provided worked great on our Garmin device. Getting into Amsterdam was a bit unnerving so not sure if there would have been a little less busy route to the hotel.
Hotels: all were located near city center and within walking distance of town sites and restaurants. The Hotel Mondragon in Zierikzee was wonderful; the host at Hotel Loskade was very helpful and accommodating. The NH Bruges was an ‘upgrade’ and while the location was very good, the hotel itself was worn and in need of maintenance and upgrade. All hotels provided nice buffet breakfasts.
Bikes : the hybrid bike was comfortable and well maintained. The e-bike was comfortable and the battery had a very long charge time. The hybrid bike came with handlebars Read More that adjusted with a lever however the e-bike did not. The e-bike required a multi-tool to make this adjustment. A crank arm and pedal fell off the e-bike while riding and the thread was stripped taking some expertise to repair. Thankfully, our travel companion brought a multi-tool otherwise we would have been unable to fix these two issues in the field. Our travel companions had a couple mechanical issues and were told to find a bike shop for repair. That is fine if you are in a large town during the week, but on the road there were very few. Highly suggest including a multi-tool in the repair kit that is provided.
We had a pleasant week exploring!

Clare & the Burren

The ride along the Burren Coast Way. Spectacular views of the sea.
I am not a road biker and I personally found the trip a little more challenging than the "Easy to Moderate" rating posted on the website.
I would suggest you need to be comfortable riding on fairly busy roads at times and train for the hills, some are quite challenging.
Overall a very special way to see Ireland and well worth the challenge.

Bolzano to Venice
Italy
Each of the towns along the route are great, my favorite being Verona. The Lake Guarda region in all is amazing. I am an artist and thrive on seeing art that is new to me. Most of the towns had museums, cathedrals or just buildings in general that sated my needs for visual engagement.
I made friends with a couple on the same tour and had an even better time than expected.
The weather was a bit rainy two or three days of the tour but I'd recommend just looking at weather apps and plan accordingly. There were always breaks in the weather.
The app works very well for guiding you through the lands. My new friends gave me the advice Read More to wear an ear bud to hear the directions which made navigation even easier.
I booked my trip very last minute, as result I stayed at a hotel at the end of the trip that was considerably farther from Venice than I would have liked. But it was simple enough to get to Venice, just a bit time consuming. My friends stayed at a hotel on the edge of Venice I would have much preferred.
I paid for the upgrades hotels and an extra might at the end of the trip, both were a very good choice in my estimation.
The trip has inspired me to return to some of the locations, like I said Lake Guarda and Verona were the highlights.i could go on and on.....

Bruges to Amsterdam Bike Tour

Your website should warn people if they choose a tandem bike, that only one pannier is provided for two people. No handle bar bag is provided.
An additional very low cost tool that should be included in every pannier is a bike multitool. You are riding a bike in the countryside and most times not near a bike store, let alone one that is actually opened when you need it. We had parts fall off bikes (e-bikes and tandem) that were not able to be fixed unless you had a multitool. A pedal fell off while riding, and of course no town in site for miles. We happened to have a bike multitool so we could continue on our ride.
The hotel provided in Willemstad was not satisfactory. We had low angled ceilings that you can easily bump your head on when turning around. The sky light leaked. The room had a bad smell.
The tour instructions for Amsterdam could have been updated to reflect all the bike path closures in the city. These paths had been closed for a long time, so alternate instructions to maneuver around the city would have been very helpful.
