We learned about trip site from friends who are avid bikers and really enjoyed this particular tour. We are three friends in our late 40s/early 50s who like to be active but are not avid bicyclists. Due to schedule constraints, we did this trip in early November 2025. If we were to do this trip again, we would likely do it a little earlier in the fall or in the spring. It sounded like the summer could be quite warm and very crowded for biking.
We enjoyed the trip and felt that it was very well organized. We chose to do regular hotels and not spend the money on fancier accommodations, which was perfect for us. The hotels were pretty nice for three star hotels, and the breakfasts were outstanding almost every day. If you are traveling as a single person, you may find your room quite small in comparison to the double rooms and sometimes not as conveniently located in the hotel.
Otherwise, we had a lovely time. Our E bikes were very nice and extremely comfortable the entire time. Hotel staff clearly had experience with trip site in the past as they were always able to make sure our bikes were safe and stored well.
The directions on GPS were almost always accurate, but like some have said sometimes the right turn actually meant a left turn!
Otherwise, the scenery is stunning and we appreciated that most of the drive was not on roads. We also appreciated having suggestions as to what to see during the trip trips. One thing we would likely not do again was visit la Viñyetta. It felt disorganized and also expensive for what was offered to us during our visit.
We did have one day where it rained, and we chose not to bike, staff were prompt to pick us up along with our bikes and drive us without difficulty!
Overall, we would do the trip again, and we would use trip site again for our bicycling adventures!

· Along the Ebro River to La Rioja
Our party of nine all enjoyed this beautiful tour. We were an older group ages 67-74 and avid cyclists. We used e-bikes which really helps on some of the longer hills. The bikes were in excellent condition and worked well. The route along the Ebro river contains many lovely cliffs, gorges and bridges, including the 13th century Frias Bridge. The roads were very quiet and pass through small villages which were also very quiet. We were the only guests at several of the hotels and dinner was included because the towns did not have restaurants. We have done a number of self-guided bike tours and this was one of our favorite.

· Camino de Santiago E-Bike Tour
The local team in Porto did an excellent job. My ebike had two flat tires during the first hour, before we lever left the city. but they switched out the bike and the remaining 6 days of riding the bike was perfect! The navigation through the app - Ride GPS was flawless. Two of the hotels were beyond amazing, all the others were perfectly fine. The logistics of the airport pickup, luggage transfers, hotel reservations and transportation back to Porto all went off without a hitch. The only suggestion that I might make in terms of route is if a group is NOT staying in Vigo having the route go right though downtown which we hit during lunchtime rush seemed unnecessary, confusing and long.

Sergio and Miguel, our knowledgeable and experienced tour guides, worked to make this journey the most memorable experience in our lives. This was our first guided tour and it certainly will not be our last one that we schedule with Tripsite. No words could adequately explain the beauty, landscape, architecture, food, history, and the people we met in Portugal and Spain. The cycling every day presented challenges with the headwind one day and the rain on another day, which made the adventure more challenging and rewarding, too. Every detail is taken care of from the bike fitting to the snacks at each stop to the magnificent hotels and restaurant options. We were taken care of with all of the support needed for an awesome trip. Don’t hesitate to reserve your chance for a one of kind experience. Thank you, Sergio, Miguel, and Philipe (transportation).

We had an excellent tour across the top of “Green Spain”, more or less following the Camino. We were somewhat worried about daily elevation gains but it turned out to be undulating hills rather than really long slogs. Glad for my e-bike though. Route was well devised and the couple of times we tried to deviate, we found out just why it was routed that way. There were a couple of ferry adventures which were fun, and we were glad the rep had explained them in advance.
Hotels were good and breakfasts were excellent. Even in late September, we were able to find decent restaurant options most evenings. Really enjoyed it.

- How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
- We were confident going in and then got worried about the daily elevation gains when we saw the details on the gps files. Turned out okay though. This would require an e-bike for all but the strongest riders though.

The most memorable part of this trip for me were the views of the beautiful Basque Country coastline and the charming places where we spent the nights. The weather cooperated for the most part also which made it that much better. I also would be remiss if I didn't mention Hennie who goes ABOVE & BEYOND to make sure each of us has a wonderful experience & addresses any of our concerns. She's the BEST!!! Our tour guide Pepe(as we called him) was great and swung in with us almost every night & we/I really enjoyed his company. I also met several new people which I will continue to keep in touch with. I really LOVE that aspect as well. So Thankyou Tripsite, Hennie, Pepe & our gang for another fun trip.

My daughter and I went on this trip together and had a wonderful time. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous from the views of the cliffs overlooking the ocean to the green pastures with horses grazing and quaint villages.
- When did you take this tour?
- September 2025
- How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
- I had no prior experience with e-bikes and was able to climb the steep hills with the turbo assistance. Since I am 70 years old I did train prior to the trip. It was difficult for some individuals using a standard bike. Unless you are in great shape would definitely recommend an e-bike.

Hennie was the most gracious and helpful person I’ve ever met. The tour guide , we called him Pepe, was a blessing in disguise. If we hadn’t had him we might have struggled not knowing Spanish, he was very accommodating and willing to go the extra mile to meet our needs. After taking the tour Cindy, my wife, and I were glad it started in Bilbao vs starting in ribadesella, as each day got better and better!! The group was a lot of fun and we loved hearing their experiences with tripsite and the trips they had been on. Tripsite was awesome to work with, it made the setup on our end almost effortless. One thing I wish had been conveyed to us was to purchase euros through our US bank, if it hadn’t been for Hennie we would have been paying higher fees to convert $ to euros! Again , Hennie was awesome and we look forward to booking more tours with Tripsite.

· Camino de Santiago E-Bike Tour
We did this tour self guided on e-bikes and of the 3 we have done with Tripsite I think this was our best! The tour is so well organised, the partners in Portugal were so helpful! The scenery along the way is spectacular, from long coastal beaches to shady forests, waterfalls and all the little churches along the way. Riding amongst those walking the Camino was very special-- listening to some of the different reasons for doing it and making friends along the way. The hotels were good with two being amazing and one that was very average. We loved exploring the local towns to find somewhere to eat at night and loved the seafood rice on offer, always prepared a little differently. Also the pastel de nata were delicious! The Spanish and Portuguese were very friendly and I would love to do another tour in one of these countries. We had great weather which always makes for a memorable time.

Our trip was amazing and one of our favorite tours of the five Tripsite bike trips so far! The Coastal views along the seashore in Portugal were beautiful, and majestic. We shared the trails/roads/paths along other hiking Pilgrims, making the experience more communal. Our guides, Miguel and Felipe, planned for our meals with local restaurateurs who served delicious traditional Portuguese foods. They took very good care of us and were attentive to our needs including preparing us for any challenges we would experience along the way. The hotels, especially the Parador de Baiona Hotel & the Torre do Rio Hotel offered an unforgettable experience overall.

The trip was beautiful, unforgettable! We loved the trails along the beaches and forests. Passing through small towns and alleys in old neighborhoods was welcoming. We were very well received in the excellent hotels and restaurants suggested. Walking through the cities we passed through was very pleasant. Taking raincoats was very important for the first day.

· Green Coast of Spain
Truly Magical!
My wife and I over the years have done over a dozen self-paced bike tours with Tripsite and the Green Coast of Spain tour remains one of our favorites. We started with a little food tour of San Sebastian which is of course a stunning place to visit and easily added to the front of the tour. Oviedo is also easily added to the tour and well worth it. I recommend you watch Vicky Cristina Barcelona for the famous flight to Oviedo.
What makes this tour great.
1. Very few cars
First of all, in general, bikes and cars get along in Spain. Many more people bike in Spain and in general you will feel far safer biking there than in the U.S. You meander along the northern coast of Spain and have many spectacular views along the way. The tour of Altamira is also a must and happens early in the tour.
2. Off the Beaten Track
The towns you stay in are off the beaten track and give you a peak into life in Spain. You stay in smaller towns along this gorgeous coast and get to be part of daily life in Spain with few other American tourists. We found Santander quite interesting as well and it's not a city we had been to before. The tour ends in Gijon which was a very interesting city and it was a Friday night and the whole town was out and about.
3. The Food and the Cider
The last couple of days has you biking in the region of Asturias. This is the land of cider and they have Ciderias that specialize in you guessed it, cider. The whole way they drink it must be seen to be believed and it's recommended to give it all a try. Lots of great food to try here with seafood being a staple.
4. Biking on paths of the Camino De Santiago
We didn't expect to do big parts of the northern Camino but the tour has you riding on many of these paths and we were often alone biking on these beautiful paths along the coast. This was incredibly relaxing.
We found the rides very doable and we're in our later 50's. We loved this tour and highly recommend it.

· Valencia, Color and Contrasts
We had the misfortune of booking our trip when global warming struck the region in October 2024. The DANA that struck the region during that time had a major impact on our trip, cancelling 3 days of riding. The folks on the ground are not to blame for the weather, but their reaction went far above expectations! Due to flooding and road washouts, they taxied us (at no charge to us) from hotel to hotel to end our trip.
The hotels were top notch, each with a distinct charm. The directions and provided GPS made for almost seamless travel (a couple of wrong turns because I didn't have the GPS tuned in fine enough.
Tripsite was a dream to work with for our booking! I was booking for a group of 8 seniors. One of them did not recover from a previous surgery in time to travel, so had to cancel 10 days before departure. They took care of notifying the providers and processed the refund quickly. I never actually spoke to anyone, but easily made all arrangements online.

· Spain’s Longest Greenway: Albarracín to Valencia
Cycling through Spain on the Ojos Negros Via Verde was incredible. This tour starts out in a mountain scape at a medieval village and continues though a variety of landscapes including forests, country sides, and citrus orchards, as you make your way towards the Mediterranean. The whole trip is filled with nature and every city has interesting things to see. Spain is full of ruins of castles, beautiful churches, and incredible meals.
We were very happy with the thoughtful hotels selected, to ensure bike safety and a unique experience. All of the hotels had so much within walking distance, that once you were there, you could easily take a break from the bikes and explore things by foot. Being self-guided allowed us to make stops as we pleased and go at whatever pace felt best for us. We never felt alone though; a we had someone nightly giving us so much information about what to expect for the following day, how to plan, and helping us make reservations for meals. They were a wealth of knowledge and made a point to ensure we were having a positive experience.
Overall, this trip was perfect for people like my husband and I, who don't just want to only see the cities and the tourist attractions. This allowed us to be active as we traveled and we felt it was very accessible terrain, even though we are not professional cyclists. We also opted for e-bikes which are so fun. For anyone stressed around the milage the e-bike is the way to go. They are just awesome. Loved how well-planned things were for us, so we only had little details to worry about.

The variety of food was a lot of fun. Seeing the little towns and villages along the way was also a plus. Trying different beers and wines was also fun. And of course the history in Sevilla, Cordoba, and Granada was excellent. With the exception of the climb through town to Castille Almoalvador, the road choices were excellent, particularly on the last day.

I enjoyed the last day of the bike trip going into Granada... the scenery was very enjoyable with the reservoirs and the forests and winding roads. They other part of the trip was also nicebut you can only admire sooo many Olive trees! I enjoyed all the castle views. I think our tour van driver, Steve Watson, did an excellent job of telling us all about the country, the history,, great sites to look for and good places to eat.

Bravo to tripsite for this incredible tour. The scenery is breathtaking and the overnight hosts were beyond hospitable. The two larger hotels in Haro and LaGuardia were very enjoyable.
For the most part, the route is ingenious, with so much downhill and easy riding. HOWEVER - some of the hills, particularly on cycling days 3 and 6, are no joke. We were on e-bikes, and without those, this would have been miserable. We are experienced cyclists, but are 70 yrs old, so were very grateful for the e-bikes. You will use a lot of battery on those two days, so be sure that you’re fully charged.
This was our third tripsite cycling tour and it was our favorite so far, well planned and and fun to ride.

My hubby and I did this tour in mid-August. Despite the heat and the elevation gain more than we expected, this tour was surprisingly amazing!! The route was beautiful AND interesting, and it was always such a treat to stay at the Paradors. Bikes were in good shape but we did have one mechanical issue,.. however the support line was quick to resolution. We definitely will not forget this trip for all the right reasons!

There were so many memorable parts to our trip it is hard to choose one. We loved riding along the incredibly beautiful seashore of Portugal. We stayed in some amazing hotels. We ate the local food of Galicia and tried so many foods that we never would have ordered at home. We rode on every kind of surface imaginable and enjoyed seeing all the walking pilgrims. On arrival in Santiago Compostela we found the cathedral magnificent. It was a fabulous trip. Thank you to our superb guides!

What a wonderful trip!! It was easy to navigate. The route was not very difficult, but active enough to feel like you've earned your sangria at the end of the day :) Lots to do and see along the routes: beaches, museums, ruins, vineyards. Amazing food. Dips in the Mediterranean post cycle. It was everything we wanted. Girona was particularly special. We did give ourselves 3 days to enjoy the city before the trip started and I would recommend that. The food and architecture and history of the old city was a joy to explore. Also, make sure to book tickets for the Dali Theatre and Museum in Figueres at the end of the trip.

An excellent cycling tour (our seventh with Tripsites!), through a very beautiful part of Spain. The route is diverse and takes you through hilly forested areas, wide open rice farms, extensive olive and apple orchards, and vineyards. And then you find yourself dipping down to the Costa Brava, with its breathtaking coastal views. The bike paths are well marked, mostly sand/gravel/packed dirt and well maintained, and generally separated, although there are portions where you are cycling on some of the quieter rural roads. There are some moderate climbs, particularly during the latter stages, but it is generally fairly flat throughout. Lots of historic and cultural sites along the way, including ancient cities (Girona, where the walk along the ramparts was particularly memorable), hilltop citadels (Pals, Figueres), great museums (don’t miss the Theatre-Museum Dali or the Toy Museum in Figueres!). Accommodations were excellent, the food and wine sublime. We added days in both Girona and Figueres, given the many interesting things to do there. We really enjoyed the loop in the middle, and the stay in Castelló d’Empuries (at the Hotel Canet), was definitely a highlight. The local contractor (Cyclotours) was great to work with - they gave us a two hour initial orientation and responded immediately to any questions or issues we had along the way. In hindsight, we would have better timed our cycling to some of the weekly markets along the route (Cyclotours has the list), and should have done a bit more research on some of the towns along the way, as we heard afterwards about some of the interesting places we missed. All in all, though, just a wonderful tour.

Excellent trip and beautiful route! Directions were very clear and straightforward. Hotels were great. The only thing I might mention, is the Hotel Juan de la Cosa is a beautiful hotel, but it really isn't close to any resturants. If you would like to eat somewhere besides the hotel (which is pricy) you might want to plan to eat in the town just before you get to the hotel. I think maybe it is 8 miles away or so. That might be something worth mentioning in your guide so that people know.
