This self navigated trip covers some beautiful untrammelled scenery, along solid bike trails. Little villages with hidden gems await. Locals are friendly and helpful, food great not to mention the wine! There is little traffic to contend with allowing freedom to enjoy the beautiful countryside. We found storybook villages, Roman ruins, good restaurants and comfortable accommodations along the way. The guest house stays were especially pleasant.

Need to print out maps if taking ferry Not marked on trail system. Lack of WC and water supply at times. Would have like to know where you could get this

The scenery was beautiful. I would not consider this an”easy” bike tour. There are very long days and lots of hills, so even with an e-bike this was challenging

A fabulous cycling tour through some o the most beautiful countryside in Switzerland, with the bonus of also cycling through Germany, Liechtenstein and Austria.

Where do you start? The trip was absolutely amazing. The country, the scenery and the animals in their natural habitat are beyond description. We loved the reserves we stayed at and eating local meals cooked over the fires. Wendel and Virgilio were amazing guides as they took care of every need from the bikes, transportation, guiding, cooking, sharing local information. Lizelle was a most gracious host. We particularly enjoyed being greeted by and going on a morning walk with a cheetah.
We rented e-bikes which keeps biking the terrain easy and enjoyable. Note that the level of biking is based on weather and may also be limited to the ability of other riders. The variety of biking was wonderful. We also really enjoyed out trip extension to Pungwe. It was a remote wilderness experience. Have been recommending this trip to all our friends!!!

Nothing that stands out.several unexpected hotel choices not to my liking

This tour was well organized. Although the tour spanned two countries with two different tour companies, we didn't encounter any problems. Our tour guides and the supporting staff were very professional. This tour took me to see places in Vietnam and Cambodia that I would never have seen otherwise. The accommodations at each stop were very comfortable and worth the money paid. The food ranged from good to incredible. The guides provided adequate fluids and healthy snacks along the route each day. This tour was worth the cost.

The Sicilian people were wonderful including our local contact for the self-guided tour! It was a delight to have multiple days to both cycle and swim in the sea.

The scenery , routes, daily mileage and top shelf guide along with a gracious driver were all reasons that I would rate this trip as a lifetime achievement adventure.. Learning about the history of each country, coupled with visits to the various historic sites made this trip come to life. Each hotel along with several that had extensive spas made the after bike ride relaxing and enjoyable..

Our first e-bike self-guided tour, and it won't be our last! We have found out new favourite way to travel. The e-bikes made touring between the Umbrian hilltop towns a breeze for us at 63 yrs and 65 yrs. The GPS tracks were off the beaten path and Bluetoothed straight into my husband's hearing aids, which was an unexpected bonus. The local operators were helpful and available, although we had no problems at all. Any questions to Tripsite had quick and efficient replies. Thanks Tripsite!

The Catalonia area of Spain was beautiful to explore! The hotels were in great locations and we were happy with the rooms, even without upgrading our accommodation. The app (Ride with GPS) worked well, although there were a few directions that were mixed up - but it would alert you, and could easily get back on track. Most of the paths were good, although it did get a bit rocky towards the middle of the trip. Overall it resulted in getting 3 flat tires in total along our trip, so highly recommend being familiar with changing a bike tire! We weren’t crazy about the Loop Castelló d’Empúries part of the trip, although it was fine up to the city of Roses, the rest of the loop didn’t have much to see or explore. The last day of biking from Castelló d’Empúries - Figueres was mostly on the highway, but was fine as it was not a busy road. We were very pleased with the quality of the e-bikes and they were a comfortable ride. A good idea to use packing cubes to organize your belongings, as unpacking and packing up could be a bit of a challenge when you’re changing hotels everyday. The luggage transfer worked very smoothly, we had to have our luggage down to the lobby each day by 9 a.m. and they would be at our next destination when we arrived.

The itinerary was wonderful; we passed through several amazing cities, and the bike paths were very good.

Good cycling route to start with between to great cities! Easy mostly off road cycle paths in parts along Danube but mainly via countryside, small villages, sunflower fields. Heatwave in early August was not part of plan so early starts and plenty of water! Sandi was excellent support. Comfortable bikes and great phone app to help stay on route! Nice hotels too nesf routes. We personally loved Gyor and Eztegorm. Would use Tripsite again. Good arrangements, good support and info when we were preplanning trip.

The scenery and bicycle paths are absolutely amazing. Most of the route is on paved dedicated bike paths. The shuttle on the second riding day worked out great and skipped a lot of climbing. Our party of eight seniors all rented e-bikes, which were comfortable and in excellent condition. All of the towns had a good selection of restaurants for dinners.

Our only complaint is the lack of air conditioning in several of the hotels. Although we started our tour the second week in September it was quite warm and only one of the hotels (Hotel Gruberhof in Meran) had working AC. Fortunately we stayed in that hotel for two nights. The other hotels were on busy streets, making it difficult to sleep with the window either open or closed. Perhaps starting the tour in October would be a good idea.

Your subcontractors Esther and Warren made the trip all worth while. Everything was done excellently. Cheers to them.

I "ditto" what every other reviewer of this trip has said! Lizelle & Wendel are the BEST. Planning of activities was perfect, lodging was perfect, bike rides & games drives were all perfect! We loved every aspect of this trip!

Also, the Cape Town extension was outstanding, with varied activities.. everything you'd want to see in
Cape Town all rolled up into one tour! And, it was private, just us!!

It was so exciting coming down the Alps on the first day! Absolutely stunning views. And cowbells could be heard constantly! Such amazing scenery, especially the lake in Iseltwald. We had the most spectacular view at dinner. We had a flat tire on one day but the local tour company helped us find the nearest train station to get us to a bike shop for help. We take these bike trips yearly and are excited for next year’s adventure!

It was all that we imagined it would be and then some. We didn't have to think about anything on this trip as it was all curated at an excellent level- every day trip, every meal. And our guides were well prepared, focusing on assuring our group had all that we needed each day. They provided clear expectations and options for each day to accommodate the variety of people in our group. We just needed to know what time to show up and what to wear/bring for the day.

Our biggest surprise was the food! Each meal across the 6 days was a tour in itself- glad we were riding a lot to earn our dinners.

Most memorable part of the trip was cycling along the coast, staying in small villages, most nights that were on the beach. The accommodations were fine. Really enjoyed the rooms with a balcony. The 1st hotel room in Porto (Trindade) was extremely dirty with stains on the carpet. They actually gave us access to the room before it was cleaned. The balance of the hotels were much better. I would highly recommend using the Ride with GPS navigation system. the organizer supplies the routes to upload. We had difficulty with the navigation system supplied by the organizer. At times it would guide to ride through thick forests, through farmers corn fields, across lakes without a boat. Their navigation system at times told us we were off course, when we actually were not. The ride with GPS gave us more comfort. We did make each segment of the route.

Beautiful area to ride through. The days were varied and lovely.
The trip needs to have the accommodations changed. Other than the fantastic stay at the rural farm they are very economy and the hotels assign the worst rooms. Some without ac and it hit 101 one day of the trip. We were able to get that room without a change to another one but only when we reached out to the local operator ourselves because the hotel staff were not helpful and told us that they were full so the only room we could have was the one with no AC . Breakfast at that same beachside hotel was really poor.
Bikes needed better maintenance (chain replacement and derailer adjustment) .
If these things were addressed, this would be a five star review for sure.
Local staff were great. Very helpful and responsive.

Fantastic trip. Good routes with easy to follow gps cues. Our luggage arrived each day before we reached the hotel. Lovely little towns along the way. The e-bikes performed flawlessly.
