Our Croatian bike and barge exceeded our expectations! Spectacular scenery, fabulous cycling, helpful guides, incredible weather, great accommodations. Overall a wonderful experience!

We had a large group of 18 friends and family of various physical ability on the Croatia Dalmatia Plus boat and bike tour. The staff was fantastic and very receptive to our needs. My roommate broke her wrist shortly before we were to board, and Lucija met with us to make sure that my friend was properly taken care of, and offered hikes for her to take since she could not ride a bike the entire week. We ran into a huge storm the second day of the trip and had to port on the peninsula rather than the island that was planned, but the crew had suggestions for hikes and wine tasting since it was unsafe to bike, and we had a very enjoyable time. The entire trip was memorable and fun despite the setbacks, the crew and guides were helpful, fun and very informative, and the food was delicious and plentiful.

The Harmonia and its crew were the best part of the trip. They were excellent in supporting us and making changes as needed. I would definitely go with them again.

Most Memorable Part: The islands have breath-taking views of the blue Adriatic Sea and the red roofs of the villages.

There were so many memorable parts to the trip - from the hardworking, entertaining crew to the scenery to the great care given by the guides. Overall an amazing trip that offered great value, challenging rides, history and fun!

My Mom immigrated from the area of Italy we cycled through, it was as if I was viewing towns and fields she viewed and visited as a child. Based on my sampling there is not a bad glass of wine in Italy....Forget a car, use a bike and public transportation...

Really enjoyed our evenings off the boat visiting some FABULOUS cities....

Loved swimming off the back of the boat in the beautiful clear sea after a morning of cycling.

Fantastic experience...staff could not have been better....the food was unreal!....everyone of the staff went out of their way to help... even through a surprise birthday celebration for me.

There were so many memorable rides, islands, towns, meals and staff it is difficult to choose. This was our first bike and boat experience and it is truly memorable because it exceeded all expectations. Previously we have done sportiv tours and also cycling hotels. Bike and boat combines the best aspects of both- you only have to unpack once, as with a cycling hotel, but you travel to a new destination each day, as with a sportiv.

I biked this tour in June of 2016, and it was absolutely the greatest. I have done a lot of bike touring on my own in the past with a tent and my own gear, and was looking for a way to share the experience with my dad that was a little more accessible than the way I'm used to traveling. That being said, I was a little nervous about what type of equipment might be available. I was nursing a hip injury, so we both ended up getting e-bikes, and I would absolutely recommend that to anyone. You could switch the power completely off and ride it as a regular bike if you wanted, but if you needed the help, it was really nice to have! The best part of the e-bikes is that it makes some of the most beautiful riding accessible to people who are not necessarily bikers. When I travel alone, the trip we did was about as challenging an itinerary as I like to do, but at 39, I was the youngest on our trip by far, and everyone was able to easily manage and still enjoy themselves even on the toughest hills. Since we were on small islands the entire time, the traffic was very minimal and the riding was absolutely picturesque.
Our ship, the Melody, couldn't have been better, and far surpassed my expectations both in the quality of the ship, and in the amount of room. We had friendly and knowledgeable guides (Tony & Josh) and the food was SO good. Every meal was prepared using fresh and local ingredients and the ship staff did a wonderful job of trying to introduce the guests to local recipes, telling us a bit about each dish before we ate. It couldn't have been any better all around, and I am booking again on the same trip.
The one recommendation I would have for anyone going on this tour, is bring some laundry detergent some and clothespins. We did our own laundry and hung it out on the deck.

We were a party of six, using E bikes. We couldn’t have done it with out because although we cycle regularly, we’re not that used to these gradients. Our guides were terrific, the whole cycling experience was very professional and we had a great time. We thought the trip to Mostar was unnecessary and added nothing to our experience.
Our only other criticism was in the catering department, there was plenty of food it but the salads lacked imagination, and we had a lot of hot food in very hot weather.
All the staff were excellent, skillful and polite, and made us very welcome.
The tour was a good blend of excercise plus cultural experiences, and the boat was wonderfully comfortable

Our trip was amazing, absolutely wonderful! Ideally, have clearer information that this trip is designed for families with children. Though guides and owner went out of their way to accommodate some additional bike trips - ten out of ten! We truly enjoyed our trip!! Even though this is level one biking trip (which we love) this trip was a little more low key than we have had it the past. Would recommend this trip to families with children or for those who want a less ambitious tour with a perfect blend morning sailing time with afternoon, low key adventures filled with sites and beautiful cities/towns.

This is a truly fantastic tour – a trip of a lifetime, which we thoroughly recommend! A luxury experience, on a gorgeous new boat, with fantastic food and incredibly thoughtful and skilled guides and crew…. With daily swimming in glistening, aquamarine seas and beautiful bike rides with stunning views. It was stimulating, energizing, relaxing and peaceful all at the same time. We would score it 12 out of 10!

The e-bikes are brilliant! We had never used e-bikes before, but they are high quality bikes, very comfortable with comfortable saddles, easy to operate and maneuver, not at all cumbersome, with a quiet engine. You can use the pedal assist as much or as little as you like, so you can get a totally natural, high calorie-burn biking experience, or an almost effortless ‘glide’ up gorgeous hills! The guests on our tour were all different ages and fitness levels, with different biking experience, and we all loved the e-bikes. We were all able to do the rides the way we wanted, at the pace we wanted – it was so flexible and made riding a joy.

The crew and guides were fantastic! We had a crew of 8 plus 2 guides, for 13 guests. Everyone was friendly and attentive, while also being very sensitive to giving us the space to relax and truly be on holiday. Our rooms were beautifully cared for, so they were calm retreats when we came back from our bike rides. It was inspiring to see the captain and sailors’ skillful work sailing and docking the ship. Theo was always on hand to help us with anything we needed and share insights about local cuisine. We felt so comfortable and cared for.

A particular highlight was the food. One of us was vegetarian and the other a meat-eater, and we were both incredibly impressed with the food. It was high quality, imaginative, varied and delicious – way better than either of us had hoped – a true highlight.

Our guides, Ivana and Meine were wonderful people to spend time with, so knowledgeable and confident about every detail of the tour. Everything was very well organized, without feeling regimented. They were excellent at explaining the bikes, the routes, and at flexing around our needs and adjusting to the weather to make sure we had a wonderful experience. They were always there and happy to help and answer questions. One Croatian, one Dutch, both with excellent English and German, they brought a wealth of experience and could connect with everybody.

The ship, the New Star, was extremely comfortable and well designed. It is brand new, spotless, with a luxury feel. It is really big – especially for the low number of guests we had – so plenty of places to relax – either in groups, or alone / in a couple, as you wish. Cabins were very comfortable - extremely well air-conditioned (a delight after a sunny bike ride), sizeable, with everything you need, including sinks big enough to do quick hand-washing (You can dry things in a couple of hours in the sun, on the clothes lines under the deck railings).  SHOW MORE 

This is an amazing trip. The ship is brand new. Doesn't feel crowded ever. The places visited are gorgeous. The views are breathtaking. The biking is very doable. No need to be afraid of hills; with these ebikes, most people will be able to do them. Plenty of time to explore ports and villages. It's hard to get lost during bike rides. Not too many bathroom facilities along the route, but every village has a number of cafes and restaurants that will let you use facilities. Bring sunscreen and good sunglasses. Ivana and Matjia, our guides, were fantastic--very accommodating. Be prepared for some improvisation, since wind conditions may force captain to alter route. Dubrovnik is nice, though too crowded, and the ship moors a bit far (30 minute walk). The other cities and towns are more visitable and relaxing, and the ship docks right downtown. Overall, one of the best trips of our lives.

The perfect trip for families with young adult children. We enjoyed the different kind of roads, the food, the sights, every town we stayed at. Our guide Matic was excellent. We are looking forward to a new adventure with Tripsite.

I loved meeting new biking friends from other countries. Everything was wonderful!

A bike and barge trip is the perfect way for active people to tour Croatia. The biking was challenging, but doable, and the scenery made up for it all. Our guides were experts, and had our safety and enjoyment foremost in their minds. We thoroughly enjoyed the tours of the various cities, towns and parks provided when not biking. The meals on the boat were gourmet, and the accommodations quite comfortable. The crew treated us with the utmost respect and caring, plus, we got to meet lovely people from all over the world. This was one of our most memorable and fun vacations!

The guides, the boat, the food, the staff all contributed to making this a perfect vacation. Swimming off the boat into beautiful water after a long bike ride was perfect. Biking the hills required lots of stamina, but the scenery at the top was worth the work. Thanks to everyone for making this a fun trip.

The staff and the crew went together to create an experience that we won’t soon forget. From first class food and accommodation to well maintained equipment and tour guides who at every possible opportunity went out of their way to make sure that there was nothing that could be improved on. I finished the tour knowing that while I couldn’t have done it without an e bike, the enthusiasm, excellent coaching and mental route preparation by Lucy and Ben made each day while still a challenge, a wonderful scenic outdoor adventure.

I've done three "Bikes and Barges" trips that I booked through Tripsite, This was far and away the best one. The advance preparations made by the staff of the Romantica were excellent. The two directors were competent, knowledgeable, and friendly. The meals were balanced and well prepared and served in ample portions (truth be told more than ample!). The bike rides were well planned and beautiful. This was truly a delightfully awesome experience. Highly recommended.

Croatia was beautiful. Every time you thought you saw the most beautiful place we would go to another more spectacular place. Bikes were good esp the e bike for my wife who had asma. The guides did everything they could to make the trip special. The boat stopped lots for swim breaks. Food on board was very good. Our server Klatko made the meals special. The only negative is that all the staff smoked as most people in Croatia. I would recommend a double room on upper deck for more privacy and to get away from staff smoking. All in all I would definitely recommend this trip to everyone.

With only 16 cabins on the boat, it was easy to interact with everyone, creating a fun and intimate multicultural biking experience.

The entire trip was wonderful. Our guides, boat staff and captain were very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure this was a memorable experience. The e-bikes were excellent. If an issue was noted, the problem was repaired that night. The tour information provided was great and allowed us to determine what the next day’s ride would be like, and pack accordingly. Options were offered and again descriptions allowed a knowledgeable decision. I would definitely take another trip.

The trip on Tarin was fantastic! Very relaxed atmosphere on the boat and during the tours. The best sceneries and the tour guides had a lot of knowledge about the places.

Kvarner Bay Plus was a great trip. This is our third bike and barge in Europe, this was by far the best for the boat, food and service. Beautiful scenery and great ports of call. The guides were world class.

This trip was fabulous. I looked forward to new adventures biking in Croatia everyday! Beautiful scenery, fun rides and great guides. This was our second trip and it was just as great as the first!
