Biking through the countryside and seeing fields of tulips growing was amazing. The country itself was wonderful even without the tulips. Our guide, Hetty, was fun and kept a pace that worked for all. We were on the Merlijn, which had just been refurbished. It was beautiful and the owners and staff were great!

This is a great culinary tour where you learn how parmesan cheese, wines, and balsamic vinegar are made. The cycling was easy, but caution needed when entering busy cities. We recommend opting for the guided and really enjoyed this tour.

The ARosa Alva is a beautiful ship with an outstanding crew. The town of Porto is charming.
The biking tour guides; Horacio, Fabian and Amos were outstanding. The riding was fun, though mostly downhill. The scenes along and above the Duoro were the kind that pictures cannot do justice to. A great trip to learn about Port winemaking. Outstanding!

Horácio, Amos, and Fabian were excellent guides as they led us all through the Douro River Valley. Horácio was kind, intuitive to our needs, fun, and very knowledgeable of the area and the people. Surprising at such a young age he was able to entertain us 60+ year olds. We were a large group of 22 all traveling together and had some most amazing best time! Also, Horácio managed to take photos of us cycling and put them on a google drive that we were then able to download! 5 stars to the men who guided us and to the tour. We packed a lot in a few days and wish we had more time.

This was a lovely trip, beautiful scenery, great people and guides. The biking was mostly on good roads. On the boat, one of the most fun and interesting experiences was going through the locks.
What I had not realized would be the case is that we were a very small group of 8 on a boat with about 120 other passengers.

the only part I would question or criticize is the below deck berths : so appreciated the piped in air...at first was afraid of potential asphyxiation - ? where is this air coming from ?...by 7:30 in morning & with some clothes on I was way too warm & had to leave..other passengers said same...how will it be in warmer weather ?

The crew worked as a team. The meals were excellent, the appetizers were a pleasant and welcoming enlightenment to arrive back from a days bike riding and encounter beautifully prepared appies awaiting us.
Our ride leader Michaela (spelling?) a true high light. Kept our days light and fun filled .

Wonderful tour and great crew. The experience of riding to see the tulips, Windmills and other sites wonderful. The crew and ship exceeded our expectations. The Chef and crew worked to accommodate our dietary restrictions and the food was wonderful.

The entire organization of the trip was great. I recommend that you change your bike to a mountain bike for your next trip.

Great trip! Very well planned. Route app was excellent. Make sure to check hotel locations carefully. They are not always in the last town on the days itinerary.

The crew was fabulous, the food excellent, and everything on the ship was beautiful. We had a wonderful time and the tour exceeded expectations.

We had perfect weather. The chef prepared great meals. The course had a variety of biking areas even though we had a number of closed roads and even a broken lock for the boat. The staff quickly developed alternatives to the original course.

We loved the trip. Lovely scenery and fascinating sites to see along the way. Accommodations were delightful and we stayed at some lovely old residences. Bikes went well and the GPX tracks made all the difference and we had no problem navigating along the various trails and roads. We so appreciated how responsive the local bike company was and if we had any queries we could send a message on WhatsApp and we received a reply straight away

the whole experience was great. The barge was lovely. The Captain and Mrs. were very welcoming. the tour guide was fantastic. Also a wonderer group of people.

The owners and crew of the Merlijn were fantastic!! The ship its self was immaculate, rooms extremely comfortable and can’t say enough about the meals cooked by Christina, one of the owners. The e-bikes made the days ride very easy and having the state of art helmets with microphone to hear our guide was a nice touch. You didn’t feel like you missed out on what the guide was saying if you weren’t at the front of the group. And I can’t say enough about our guide Hetty. She was very personable, knew the area and history well and went out of her way to ensure we all enjoyed the tour. I would definitely travel with this ship again!!

The guides were great with their inside knowledge and fun stories. The food was outstanding.

The trip was terrific!! We were on the IRIS that is 150% better than our last boat. The crew was terrific, the bike leaders were awesome and I believe they were so important in making the trip such a success. Of the 7 days of riding 1 day was totally in the rain and it was great, not that I wanted to get wet but the bike leqders were so prepared and positive. The other folks on the boat were terrific. And the flowers....mind boggling to say the least. I cannot recommend this trip strongly enough. The cabins were super clean, the showers were great (never ran out of hot water) and the food was good.

The weather in. Amsterdam was very cooperative . The boat crew and the bike tour leaders were all incredibly helpful and congenial. I was excited about seeing the tulips in April in Amsterdam at the Kooken, and I was not disappointed! I will definitely do another bike tour in the future.

Loved the route, the food, the hospitality. We could be busy in the evening or be lazy. We were asked our opinion on the day's events.
One thing I might include from the guides is a few riding lessons on how to use an ebike. How to start from a stop. How to change gears. As a rider, I was doing that for all the inexperienced riders, but wondered if it was my place to do so.

Spectacular bucolic setting for a cycling trip. Lovely medieval towns, quiet country roads. Great food. Extra day canoeing Dordogne river and climbing the cliffs near BEYNAC a highlight

The staff were very aware that people arrived with different skill levels and expectations and were able to accommodate everyone. They were flexible enough as things were not always predictable. Thomas was especially good at his job-very knowledgeable and a fountain of information on the Netherlands, especially any stops we made.

Warren and Esther from Galloway cycling made this trip one of the best we have had, definitely the best tour operators we’ve experienced. They truly will do anything they can to ensure the best possible holiday. This is a beautiful area of Scotland with few tourists. The cycling routes were beautiful and there were options to choose from each day. The towns of Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright were charming and our accommodations at Douglas House and Selkirk Arms were very comfortable. When we finished the trip we just wanted to start it all over again!

Highly recommend this trip ! We rode this self guided tour on our recumbent bikes and loved the ride. The local partner, Sergio and his staff, was very accommodating and flexible so we could use our own bikes, thank you! At the end of the tour, We were about to get stuck with our bikes in Lisbon due to a train labor strike and massive power outage but Sergio saved the day and transported us back to Porto. All of Sergio's team were very helpful, friendly professionals. Thank you to them and the Tripsite crew for such an enjoyable, memorable vacation!

The weather was perfect and the tulip day was beautiful. The E bikes were very easy to use and safer than the model I have been using at home. The guides were kind and considerate of everyone in the group. I appreciated that the route, etc. was modified according to the level of the participants. I’m sure others appreciated that they could do some rides self guided. I appreciated that I could pay extra and be assured of a gluten-free diet. I could not have managed the trip without that. The staff were all professional and congenial. I noticed that they worked very hard to keep the ship clean and working well..

The tour was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were amazing and food was wonderful. We particularly liked the after cycling drinks and canapes. Perfect for after a day of touring and cycling. The bikes were amazing, the gears were perfect for the terrain, even the hilly bit on Day 4!
The bedrooms were a little dated but as advertised.

Great bike trip! Favorite city was middleberg! Be sure to enjoy the cheese in Gouda.
