The tour was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were amazing and food was wonderful. We particularly liked the after cycling drinks and canapes. Perfect for after a day of touring and cycling. The bikes were amazing, the gears were perfect for the terrain, even the hilly bit on Day 4!
The bedrooms were a little dated but as advertised.

Great bike trip! Favorite city was middleberg! Be sure to enjoy the cheese in Gouda.

Cycling through the Netherlands with our wonderful guides was a great way to enjoy such a beautiful countryside. It was so nice each day to return to the Iris, welcomed aboard by an amazing crew followed by a delicious dinner each evening.

My husband & I had a fabulous bike & barge trip visiting the Netherlands. We enjoyed beautiful trails, amazing picturesque scenery and outstanding hospitality we experienced during our tour of the of the Netherlands. The Keukenhof was magnificent & definitely did not disappoint with its endless array of tulip & flower varieties. Just fabulous! My husband describes it as the "Disneyland of Tulips". We enjoyed creating new friendships with our fellow biking companions on the Iris. This was our third and I'd say our best bike & barge experience. I credit this extraordinary experience with not only the hard working staff of the Iris but with our superstar biking guides, Hetty & Maaike. These ladies are incredible! They set the tone and pace for the entire group & in doing so, created an environment of community versus competition. What a difference this made! Instead of regular biking folks trying to continuous keep up with the electric bikers, they were able to enjoy their biking day. We absolutely recommend biking & barging as it is the very best way to see and experience a country!
#1 tip: bring rain gear, waterproof, not water resistant a very important distinction! If it rains, as it did for us, being dry & staying dry is essential for your comfort! #2: don't over pack! Biking groups tend to dress very casually.

Seeing Greece by bike - gives you a close-up. Well organised trip means a relaxing time.

All of journey was gorgeous. in the beginning the routes are more steeps and when you reach Danúbio River the path is more flat. All of cities that you stay are super nice. Anyway, I loved all.

We really enjoyed this self guided tour. You are basically following the Danube or Donau, as the Germans refer to it, essentially downhill, making it fairly easy riding. The best part was riding with a group of curious friends. Poking our noses into things along the way and asking lots of questions made for a good travel experience. The bicycles we received were brand new and half of the group chose electric versions. All of the equipment worked well and the support team was responsive answering questions via cell along the way. We even got a first class detour around a road closure. Two vans transported us and our bicycles around a closed area along the river, thank you! There are a number of bicycle ferry crossings. This was really fun to load up the bikes and cross the river by boat. We also finished the trip on a short boat ride into Budapest. I would recommend this finish as you get to see all the bridges from the river coming into the city. Our accommodations were a good mix of private guest houses and hotels. Perhaps one suggestion, would be to have 2 nights in Vienna, since there is so much to see there. There is a lot to see in Budapest so we extended our visit there 3 more nights. Overall a very nice bike trip.

Beautiful countryside, saw so much beauty and the staff on the boat were lovely snd made us very comfortable.

This was a challenging ride, not because of the hills or the ponds we had to get through but because of the rutted sand, rock and gravel surfaces we biked on. I suppose it might be easy mountain biking , but not easy biking. Memorable though and great guides.

Everything about our trip was fantastic. The bikes were brand new. The crew as superb. The food was excellent. The boat was delightful. Our fellow trip participants were a delight. We are so glad we chose to go on this trip.

I especially liked the ability to bike through farmlands, quaint country villages, vineyards, apple orchards and see old castles, church spires, rolling hills in the background and of course, the beautiful Danube river was always on our side. Most of all though, was the chance to visit Bratislava, Budapest, Vienna and Munich on foot and enjoy the different food offerings and beers!
We did do the excursion into Budapest at night and that was fabulous. Seeing the three bridges all lit up and riding around Pest after having goulash and watching the dinner show of dancers and musicians was lovely, I'd do it all over again!

Very well organized. Friendly and attentive staff. My brother and I had such a great time. The weather was mostly great, and even when it rained on us, it didn't matter. We were weather-proofed and active, so kept warm. We got a little tired mid-week, after doing 40 mile rides, so were thinking that planning an easier day mid-week or doing something else off-bike would help with the muscle recovery. We rode regular bikes, so the e-bike people may not have the same comment. You are always welcome to stay on the boat or do the shorter routes, but we wanted to see it all!

One inconvenience with the trip is when you could and couldn't use credit cards on the boat. It was inconsistent. We found ourselves short of Euros because they wouldn't accept credit cards when my brother wanted to rent an e-bike for a couple days . . . but you could use your credit card to buy drink cards! Go figure.

Our Italian chef Irena made the best food that we had on the whole trip.and Italian steward Deanna Selected the wines. Both were so gracious and professional are afternoons and evenings were made perfect. The itineraries were perfect such beautiful small villages add scenery. The bikes were much better than we expected. Definitely go electric. Our boat the Estella was very nice.

Riding through the tulip fields, visiting the huge Tulip Garden and the Flower Auction. All amazing!

My husband and I are not avid cyclists but we found the 7-Day Family Biking Tour rated “easy”, exactly that in terms of terrain and distances. The towns along this course are quaint and easy to navigate as a cyclist. The terrain in between towns and overnight stays were especially scenic and enjoyable!

Riding thru the tulip fields was amazing. A memorable experience.

Loved every day of the bike rides, especially through natural areas including the tulip and hyacinth fields, the dunes, wooded areas, and of course to Keukenhof Gardens

The boat, guides, bikes, and routes of the trip were awesome! I certainly did not want the riding to end. If I had to pick anything that I would change it would be that the food was a little "lite". When I am riding up to 35 miles a day, I need something a little more substantial for breakfast and dinner.
Joan and Betina were amazing and went above and beyond the whole trip.

The most memorable part of the trip was riding our bikes through the tulip fields. Bettina was our guide that day and she made sure that we could stop and see all of the lovely tulip fields. Another really amazing part of the trip was to the Flower Auction (Flora Holland). I had never seen anything like that. I would absolutely recommend this as part of any future trips to the Netherlands. I have been to the Keukenhoff two times before and am always impressed with the floral displays on the grounds there. The food on this trip was pretty good but it was definitely not the highlight of the trip. The boat was very clean but even the upstairs rooms were pretty compact. Towel bar warmers in the bathrooms would habe been a nice touch, as they tend to help with drying laundry that has been handwashed.

I loved the upclose feeling to nature that being on a bike offers.

The staff on board our barge/boat were wonderful. Hard-working, accommodating and very friendly and tending to all our needs.

Great experience and crew made our stay amazing! The rooms were larger than expected and meals were great.

The barge (Magnifique IV) was so clean and felt very new. The rooms snd common space were great. We had a suite which had 2 double beds pushed together, a small sitting area and a nice bathroom. The food was excellent and the bike riding was easy or hard depending on if you put the e bike on. I recommend an e-bike because the regular bike is the same without the battery. Our guides were really informative and took us through beautiful countryside. We loved the trip.

As with any trip of this type, the people make all the difference. The crew of the Magnifique IV were fantastic. The bike guides were all that we could have hoped for. Hans and Thomas guided us masterfully. We had a good comfortable pace, they were knowledgeable, fun, patient, protective, professional and happy. Boat crew was on point. The food was excellent and the boat was first class nice. Everything was 5 star good. The sights were well chosen and really interesting. Tulips were amazing. Keukenhof was my highlight followed closely by the incredible flower market auction area. Loved biking through the neat as a pin small towns and the beautiful countryside.

Excellent boat, service, food, staff, etc. - However, the biking had too many dangerous spots. It wasn't all "idyllic"as promoted on your site.

Of course the tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths were beautiful and we picked a good time to go. We had good sunny weather, we were lucky with that. The Keukenhof gardens were well worth the stop. Our group of 8 were very impressed with the food and the staff were great.

Bike paths were very good and enjoyable. This was the first bike trip for me and I felt safe. The company was very responsive to our inquiries along the paths. The scenery was beautiful and the villages and hotels along the way were very good. Breakfast included in every stop was very helpful.
