The crew and guides were amazing. Rooms /beds comfortable. They gave just a blanket that was scratchy - so ask for another sheet. The AC would often be turned off around 3am which made it hot.

Food was great. Hanging out on the top of the boat on the cushions was lovely.

The sites we saw were really beautiful. The bike ride distance were totally doable. If you are heat sensitive- do not do in summer months.

Too much bike riding and not enough visiting sites and relaxing

Ou mid-October trip was spectacular. We had lovely Fall weather for riding. Our guides were knowledgeable, helpful and entertaining. To enjoy the scenery, I'd suggest an ebike unless you are really gungho. While most rides had little traffic, familiarity with riding in close proximity to cars is helpful (especially if you ride during peak season.)

The trip with the boat and bikes in the PELOPONNES and SARONIC islands was lovely...we had perfect weather for cycling on the quiet and safe roads. The boat, Thalassa, was comfortable and the staff were pleasant. It was lovely to see the small cities and marinas as well as some interesting stops along our cycling routes. It was nice not to feel rushed and the balance between cycling, cruising (motoring, as the boat did not sail), relaxing and visiting sites near the marinas where the boat docked was just right for this vacation. Initially, I was surprised that all meals were not provided on the boat, but ultimately happy to go out into the towns to mingle with the locals.
I loved how well the feral cats on the Greek islands were fed, housed and looked after!
My suggestions would be to have a snack provided on board after we returned from cycling and to have more reasonable prices on the bar drinks rather than restaurant prices.
The guides were nice and entertaining as well as innovative when small problems arose with bikes.

Great trip overall. The boat and food were excellent. Unfortunately because we were the last tour of the summer the bikes were in bad shape. Lots of breakdowns and swapping out of bikes, fiddling with batteries, etc each day. To improve the experience the bikes should be maintained between every trip!

Our guides Ivan and Martina were amazing, as was the entire crew on the Romantica. Food was consistently good, and when weather posed an issue they re-routed us to make sure we still had a great experience. I think that it would be better if everyone is on the same type of bike to avoid long waits for the folks on E-bikes. Scenery was beautiful and mostly avoided heavy traffic areas.

A super tour made possible by great guides. Horacio, Fabian and Kevin kept our group of 20 bikers safe and entertained. Explanations of the ride, terrain, history of the area and things of note were briefed before each ride. The e-bikes were easy to operate and we had no equipment issues. The Douro Natural Park Barca d'alv was stunning. The Alva was a great boat with a super crew. The meals were good and the entertainment was enjoyable. Highly recommend the Douro River Bike and Boat.

Everything was excellent from beginning to the end. Guides were very knowledgeable and totally entertaining. They stopped just the right amount of time to allow people to regroup and provide scenic views and historical information. Wait staff was very cordial and always helpful! The chefs always created excellent food for every meal! They created very impressive dishes from the presentation to the flavor!

The professional guides. They made the trip fun, exciting and memorable.

We had a great week, weather was wonderful, Everything went as planned. Tour leaders were very attentive. Boat was great.

The only thing I would have added is a quick castle tour near the praying hands statue near the end of the bike trail

Very enjoyable trip. We had wonderful shipmates and both guides were excellent. Bike rides were just right for our skill level. The meals were great and the crew was top notch.
The ship was clean but our cabin was a bit smaller than expected and a few things in the bathroom are in need of repair (broken toilet seat, broken towel rack).. A bit disappointed that we didn't actually sail but rather just motored between ports; apparently not enough crew to work the sails.

The towns visited. Wish we had a bit more time in a couple of them.

Great times, great service. Quality boat with excellent meals. Esther provided an engaging experience along with her assistance who we nicknamed 'Woody' as he tried very, very hard to fix a pedal with a piece of wood. He was amazing

The excellent bike guides did a great job of dealing with some tricky weather and adjusting the itinerary accordingly. In addition, they were able to accommodate part of our group who needed to switch from regular to e-bikes for a couple of days during the trip. The boat was beautiful and very comfortable, and the boat crew did a great job taking care of us. The guitar on board was a great addition since we had some musicians in the group and the cook was also an excellent guitar player! This is our second bike and barge with Tripsite, and we've had excellent experiences both times. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone!

Love the Merlijn and her crew! They make every trip special. The ship is great, the meals are absolutely fantastic. The tour was fun, every day was different. The ebikes are ok. The evening walks, plus Miltonburg tour and wine tour were special and enjoyable. Thank you! We already signed up for 3 weeks in 2027

Every aspect of the trip was excellent. The captain, the food prep and service. Every staff member was excellent including the guide.

This trip was beyond everything we expected - the people, the crew, the boat, the sites, the guides were all amazing. It is definitely worth having some extra time in both Split and Dubrovnik - beautiful spots. We liked the side trips that the guides planned - the winery, museum and village tour - great surprises.

i loved biking through the country side and small towns. We would stop for ice cream and even visited a winery. It was nice having the guide, didn't have to think about where we had to go each day. Visiting all of the towns along the way tasting their food and beer and shopping in the small shops was fun. The boat had a good vibe and relaxing atmosphere.

The scenery along the rivers was amazing. I enjoyed exploring the smaller towns along the routes. The daily organization for the bike routes was very well done.

The meals on the boat (thank you, Chef and Sous Chef!) and the bike rides (thank you, Kristofer and Petra!). The e-bikes made the hills easy and I felt as if I could go all day. The meals were amazing! I enjoyed every course of every one. I especially appreciated the guides on our rides who rode at the front and back, making sure we took as long as we needed and letting nobody get left behind. They provided tremendous peace of mind, allowing us to enjoy the ride and not worry about problems.

The first part of the tour was more difficult than anticipated because of the many hills. Feniks is the smallest of all the boats we have toured with and the accommodation was very cramped. We really enjoyed our fellow travellers - 4 Canadians and 8 Australians - and the boat's crew. Our guide, Seitse, who we have travelled with on a previous tour, is one of the best in the business.

This trip was excellent overall. Tripsite was easy to work with ahead of the tour and then, even though we were self-guide, the tour operator was communicative, hands-on, and all their staff were friendly and helpful.

The app they use for directions is excellent, and even in the intricate streets of rural Portugal, we were able to easily find our way and knew within a couple minutes when we were off track. This also made it easier to find points of interest because they were clearly marked in the app. The points of interest were good and were a mix of "look at this" (roman ruins, churches, etc) and "get a tour here" (cork factory, several wineries, etc). If you are self-guided, the tour operator will help you book reservations for tours once you get there, but we missed a few because they needed to be booked more than a week in advance and we didn't know that. As soon as you get access to the app, take a look at what you want to do and either contact them yourself or ask the tour operator to book them. Some days only have a couple viewpoints/tours, and if they are both closed or not booked it could be disappointing.

The cycling was generally pretty flat. I've seen other reviews that there is a lot of climbing, we didn't find that. There are some long uphills, but the longest of these was clearly mentioned in the app before we started up to that point of interest. The bigger challenge for us was the routes that aren't asphalt - I think every route had us on gravel for several sections and sometimes it was quite sandy or rutted. The most difficult section we biked was marked as an "alternate more adventurous path", so we expected it. If you're worried about the hills, I would suggest an e-bike, although I did it with a normal bike.

The bikes were in excellent condition. We were provided with everything we needed - water bottles, repair kit, handlebar phone holders, chargers for e-bikes, and a bike jersey.

The dinners at the farmhouse were excellent. They were home-made and rich at the same time and are a highlight of the trip. The rooms are well appointed, and although the building is old, it worked very well for us once we realized you have to run the shower for 5 minutes to get hot water.

This boat and bike cruise was a great experience. It was well organized with guides for the biking and town tours. The onbooard temperance was also so pleasant with us meeting aome great people as well as kind, helpful staff, delicious food, and a schedule that allowed for rest in between the biking and town touring. I'll definitely look to do this again.
