The biking, sailing, and staff were great. We really enjoyed the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen and the Eise Eisinga Planetarium in Franeker.

We really enjoyed our cycling adventure in South Holland however, what was not mentioned was that the entire boat; staff and guests spoke German. This was not in the information that I read when booking this adventure. We did not understand the people at our table nor when we were cycling. The itinerary said the trip was September 21-29, so I was surprised when our trip was over on the 28th. I then needed to secure a hotel room that evening. Finally, I booked a room on the upper floor to have a view of the water and a window that opened. I did not read anywhere that the boat was in port each evening and I paid a premium to look at people sitting on a bench. We did not open the curtains or window for this very reason. I do feel that I should be reimbursed the extra fee that was charged for being on the upper floor.
Our guide Wolfgang tried his best to help us in English but he was difficult to understand. The food was great, and having coffee and cakes when we arrived back each day was fabulous.

How helpful the on board staff were. With the exception of Arie, the tour guide, I found everyone helpful and fun. The guys who managed our bikes were awesome, even wiping down our seats in the rain.

The scenery we passed through. It was beautiful. I definitely recommend going on the side excursion to the flower auction. Crazy scale.

So many wonderful memories! The boat was very comfortable, the food was delicious, and meeting folks from all over the world was so much fun! The bikes were well maintained and the crew was helpful, courteous and thoughtful. Tour guide Arie always seemed to be on the road where he was needed.

This was my third bike/boat, and, this by far was my favorite. The accommodations were wonderful, the crew professional, friendly, and helpful. The tour was fabulous, meals were delicious, and plentiful with lots of variety. I can go on and on, we’re checking out another tour, if this particular ship went elsewhere, I’d definitely consider another booking on it. Friesland was so interesting.

My husband and I loved this trip! It was an amazing combination of cycling and sometimes more difficult cycling due to weather and an incredible opportunity to see some beautiful country! The crew aboard Sailibg Home worked hard to make this trip go off without a hitch and they were successful! We were spoiled rotten! The meals were tasty and satisfying without being over the top or too much food! Lunches for the day were tasty and satisfying. The crew provided a sense of comfort and safety and much fun and laughter.

Trip was great. I loved it when our guide took us on a bus into the city at night. Even our captain took us on a walking tour one evening!!! The crew did a phenomenal job! Sat with us at our tables during dinners! Even took the time to celebrate somebody’s birthday with decorations and a cake!!! Everyone was made to feel welcome and looked out for each other! The food was amazing, the chef really book his heart into everything he did! Bikes were great. Beautiful scenery, fun stops along the way and learnt some interesting history. I would definitely love to do another trip like this!

The crew were super friendly and worked tirelessly to keep us comfortable and happy. The meals were delicious and beautifully plated. Our cycle guide Kitty was patient and friendly in spite of an unexpected reroute. Unfortunately this reroute had us cycling 50-60km each day with very little to see other than country side. Cycling shorter days would have allowed more time to explore the towns & villages. When we docked, our suppers took 2 hrs which prevented us from seeing some villages in the daytime. One final observation: we felt that the cyclers should have been split into two groups each with their own guide. One faster group and one slower group. The faster group often had to wait for the slower group to catch up.

Overall, it was an amazing experience. A huge thank you to Paul, Pim, Inma, Karin & Kitty for making us feel so welcome on the lovely “Sailing Home” barge.

Great canal cruise to many historic cities….study up on thèse before thé start of thé trip.

Great experience. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking at a small group biking excursion. The crew and our guide were all great, the food was wonderful, the bikes were all in good condition. So much to see, and a good way to meet people.

This was my first cycle trip. I rented an e-bike just in case I found it to difficult. I probably used it about half the time in minimal power assist. Quite flat for most of it but when travelling by north sea alot of headwind so the e-bike was terrific.
I loved the barge. The small group was great as we got to know one another! Food was good. I look forward to doing another cycle trip.

Scenery and the food was delicious every meal. Rooms were better than expected.

The Magnifique IV ship was lovely and the food was excellent. The entire crew was friendly and accommodated special requests. The biking in Netherlands is mainly flat so I suggest using hybrid bike rather than an ebike. However, currently the tour only has 28" wheel hybrid bikes available so if your height is on the shorter spectrum and you're interested in riding a hybrid bike, I suggest emailing Tripsite.com in advance to see if they will be able to provide bike. Tripsite.com staff is friendly and very responsive in replying to emails.

We throughly enjoyed cycling through the villages and rural landscape.
We had a few days of strong winds which we understand is very normal for this region - this made for challenging cycling on a hybrid bike.
The bicycles were very old and needed replacing plus 2 bike bags should have been provided to hold rain gear. The GPS app wasn’t reliable and required frequent rebooting. Our cabin was infested with sewer flies - very off putting and disturbing.

We loved the beautiful countryside of the Netherlands and Belgium! The cities of Amsterdam, Antwerp, Ghent, and Brugges were all so unique and beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the MV FLUVIUS. The captain and staff that run the boat were excellent! Our cabin and the rest of the boat were freshly updated and extremely clean. The chef was outstanding and made every meal unique and delicious! His curried soups and lasagna were especially popular! The most memorable part for us is the wonderful people that we met and travelled with!!

It was an absolute blast. The team on our boat were fantastic! I would highly recommend.

Meeting other ship mates, seeing the country side of The Netherlands and Belgium, relaxing after a great day of riding.

If you want to see a country, then get out of the cities and see the country. The bike trip from Amsterdam to Bruges lets you do that. I have a lot of good memories that will last a lifetime. The crew worked well together and made sure everyone enjoyed themselves. Special compliments to our Chef as the evening meals were varied and nicely presented.

The beautiful bike trails and paths throughout Holland and Belgium gave us the opportunity to see so many wonderful things that we wouldn't have seen by car, train or on foot. Everyone on board the ship were wonderful and our tour guide, Jan, was great! It was wonderful to meet the other guests from so many countries. Great weather, which was helpful!

The vast and varied beauty of the rural areas and the trails through this landscape and the trees.

The biking was fabulous. The crew members were fun relaxed and very accommodating.The bikes were very easy to handle and perfect for the trip. I loved them!The barge was beautiful and more spacious than I imagined. I had an excellent time on this trip and would highly recommend it.

There are so many beautiful sights to see along the biking paths and roads. A guided tour is the way to go in my opinion so one can relax and just take in all of the sights without having to be concerned about finding the next turn. The incredible and friendly guides show you the entire way and there are so many, many turns and changes to the route to be watching out for.

Scenery, staff was wonderful.
Need better lighting in bathrooms. Hard to put on makeup with a tiny light behind you in ceiling.

The tour was fabulous! The ship's captain and crew were extremely helpful. Max, the chef, treated us to gourmet meals from around the world. When the weather turned foul (high winds to Force 7-8 and some rain) the captain provided us with some viable alternatives to visit that worked out well. One of the best parts of the trip was working with the crew to trim the sails. It helped to unite the group in a common task and allowed us to interact in a unique way. We're thinking about coming back for more in a couple of years.

What a wonderful adventure! The barge was lovely. It was so nice after a day of riding to sip on a tasty adult beverage and watch the world go by. You could tell the staff really enjoyed working with each other and their joy and sense of fun was contagious. Our meals were varied, filling and done with attention to detail. Thank you Inma for the recipe of one dish! The walks into town lead by our bike guide were very informative and gave you a real taste for the life. The biking was not difficult (especially with an e-bike) and the terrain was amazing. The landscape of the Netherlands was so peaceful. I especially loved cruising thru the small villages. I look forward to doing another Bike and Barge trip with Tripsite and Cycle Tours soon. What a great active, but not too active vacation.

Tips: No need to bring your own helmet. Bring an Allen wrench for small adjustments for your bike to customize it to your ride. I brought my own padded seat cover and was happy to have it but with padded bike shorts others did just fine. Bring patience. There were a few things out of the companies control such as weather and broken bridges. Roll with it. Pack lightly. Pulling a heavy suitcase over the cobblestone streets is challenging. In Bruges, there is a free electric van that will take you into the town near many popular hotels and then take you from your hotel to the train station for free.

We saw so much if Holland, every day was such a great adventure. We had ebikes and would recommend them to people even if they bike regularly.
