· Douro Valley Wine & E-Bike Tour

All in all it is a beautiful tour. However, be sure your biking skills are top notch and don't expect an easy ride. Lots of long uphills and downhills with sharp hairpin turns. The vineyards are beautiful and so are the views. I would not call it a wine tour, rather a castle tour, as the long daily distances leave very little time - if any - for wine tasting. Also, only a few vineyards are open for tasting after pre-arranged visit. But, enjoy the excellent, inexpensive local wines with your lunch and dinners.

· Pearls of the Alsace Wine Route

We really loved the Alsace region. The first few days we followed the Alsace Wine Route and you really do ride through the middle of vineyards. The scenery is beautiful and the villages are very picturesque. We opted to spend the day in Colmar and I was so glad we did. It was a highlight of the trip.

We found the description of the ride as Moderate to be misleading. We expected rolling hills and some climbs, but the steepness of the hills going into Riquewihr and Kayserberg was extreme. All the other riders we saw on the route that day were on e-bikes. So unless you are a very strong rider, I would recommend getting an e-bike.

The only disappointment with the itinerary was that the trip was changed to end in Saint-Louis, France rather than Basel, Switzerland. There really isn’t much to see or do in Saint-Louis. If this is going to continue, the trip description on the website really needs to be changed.

How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
We were expecting it to be hilly, but the hills going into Riquewihr and Kayserberg were extreme (around a 10% incline). Everyone in our group had to walk up, which made for an unpleasant experience. The other days were quite manageable on a pedal bike. In hindsight, I wish we had rented e-bikes. A better description for this ride would be Moderate to Difficult.

· Along the Danube - Four Country Tour

I loved being on the boat, but there was not enough time to bike.. Too much Barge and not enough biking . I always felt like I was on too tight of a schedule. In retrospect, I would not have done the optional tours on the bus. They were informative but ate up too much time.
I loved the food, and all the staff was great! I wish we could have moved around our seating on our table, we were a group of 10. bu we had to sit in the exact same seat every meal, why not have room numbers we move to where we are seated?
I loved seeing Budapest at night also from the boat. The bikes were fine. overall I liked, it I just felt like we did not have time to relax and explore when we were biking. I wanted to check out more towns.

This was truly the best trip I’ve had in a long time! Everything about it was fantastic from the incredible sites We visited to the breathtaking biking routes. Every day was amazing. The experience on the boat was unforgettable, with outstanding staff, delicious food, and excellent service. Leslie, our cruise Director was absolutely top-notch. He was informative, funny and always ready to answer questions. Honestly, it’s hard to pick just one highlight because the entire trip was so special. I’ll definitely be recommending this adventure to all of my biking friends!

· Pearls of the Alsace Wine Route

It was wonderful travelling through the vineyards and chatting with the local farmers as they harvested the grapes. We also enjoyed travelling along scenic rivers and canals. Almost everything was paved, and only a small percentage of the trip was on roads with traffic. But the description of the ride is misleading. it should be described as moderate to difficult. In the material, it gave estimates of the grades of the various climbs. I rode with a Garmin GPS and it showed much different grades. For example, the last (#5) climb on Cycling Day 2 from Obernai into Riquewihr is described as a 3.3 percent grade over 5.06 km. What it doesn't say is that 3.3 percent is the average. In fact, much of the climb was between 3 and 6 percent, and a portion was over 9%. I registered 13% on my Garmin. This is not a moderate activity. We experienced similar discrepancies on some of the other days.

My daughter and I went on this trip together and had a wonderful time. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous from the views of the cliffs overlooking the ocean to the green pastures with horses grazing and quaint villages.

How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
I had no prior experience with e-bikes and was able to climb the steep hills with the turbo assistance. Since I am 70 years old I did train prior to the trip. It was difficult for some individuals using a standard bike. Unless you are in great shape would definitely recommend an e-bike.

Hennie was the most gracious and helpful person I’ve ever met. The tour guide , we called him Pepe, was a blessing in disguise. If we hadn’t had him we might have struggled not knowing Spanish, he was very accommodating and willing to go the extra mile to meet our needs. After taking the tour Cindy, my wife, and I were glad it started in Bilbao vs starting in ribadesella, as each day got better and better!! The group was a lot of fun and we loved hearing their experiences with tripsite and the trips they had been on. Tripsite was awesome to work with, it made the setup on our end almost effortless. One thing I wish had been conveyed to us was to purchase euros through our US bank, if it hadn’t been for Hennie we would have been paying higher fees to convert $ to euros! Again , Hennie was awesome and we look forward to booking more tours with Tripsite.

· Amsterdam to Bruges

The boat and personal were 5 star and more. Our trip was very memorable and the sight seeing was spectacular. The cabin was clean and efficiently laid out. The food was underwhelming. Breakfast was very similar everyday unlike our experience with Rad & Reisen. Boiled eggs were served or runny scrambled eggs. Fresh fruit limited no strawberries (in Season or watermelon)No omelettes or pancake choices. Wine and beer selection was very limited and pricey 7.50Euros for a 1/2 glass of wine. Dinner included frozen vegetables on a few nights. Coleslaw with mayo on 3 nights for a salade selection. The food was efficiently presented and edible just not what I had expected or anticipated.

When did you take this tour?
Sept 2025 - loved it all - cabins were comfortable and clean and bathroom was larger than I anticipated and very updated. Crew was exceptional. Any request was quickly filled.
How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
We biked more km than I expected each day but I was able to complete each longer route with the assistance of the electric bike. With the headwinds the electric bike was a must for most of the 66 passengers. Those that had not booked ahead of time for the electric bike were pleased when one became available. Just makes the tour that much more enjoyable. I am on the wait list for a knee replacement and had no difficulty.

Biking the Wachou valley, outside Vienna. It was an incredible ride, with great places to stop along the way. The trip was great, the crew handled all those bikes great. Would have liked more time in some of the cities, and more diet options.
But, that’s being kinda picky, it was a great trip and would recommend.

The trip was great. I appreciated the small boat (33 guests vs. the 100+ on a previous trip down the Danube). The staff was attentive and always friendly. The destinations were perfect even when we had some weather to deal with.
Overall I would highly recommend this bike/boat trip to anyone who asks.

· Highlights of Northern Zealand

First thing this is not an easy bike ride. There are climbs every day and sometimes in the forest on dirt roads. I would recommend a pedal assist if you want to enjoy this trip. Denmark is wonderful and the people are great however a little pricey to eat and drink! The tour company was not the greatest. They did not have a print out for us which we were supposed to get a 20 Euro refund which we have not received and their GPS was not working the last day so we had to rely on Apple. Our luggage did not arrive one night until 7:30 so that was very inconvenient and some of the hotels were not in the city.

The bikes were great. The crew took care of everything, answered any questions we had and provided insight to suggested stops along the way. Tripsite tour representative Kirsten went above and beyond to answer all our pre-trip questions. The routes were very picturesque, provided ample opportunity to explore the countryside and learn about the local cultures. The food was great and great suggestion to bring a container for lunch. We will definitely book again!

Unfortunately, our flight was cancelled at the last minute, and we missed the first day riding on our tour. However
Sophie came to the rescue and was able to get our bikes delivered to the second hotel, and we were able to ride and view the fabulous Chateau Chambord. We took advantage of booking the meals at each destination. Sophie's choices of restaurants in each town were top notch and within walking distance of the hotel. We met a different group of riders each day on the trail from England, Germany, Canda and Denmark each group bonded together and road in a pack. this is our 4th tour with Tripsite, but our first with baggage pick up which we were a little hesitant about, however the execution was excellent which now gives up a lager selection of trips for our next adventure!

The bike riding was the most enjoyable part for me. The ride to Amsterdam was great. As was the stop by the beach on the way to Veere. Our Guide, Mike was so kind to provide us with evening tours in the beautiful small dutch towns. our chef Paolo was great with delicious dinners each evening. And the captain Paul was excellent and added a touch of humor to the trip.

It was easy just like the description. But I am an experienced biker so I would have enjoyed going faster. But there were a few people who were not fully capable with the use of an E-bike and that slowed us down.

Wonderful biking throughout! App was helpful as was the route book. The arrow stickers Leslie put out were great. Bus/walking tour in Bratislava was good. Would have been nice if we stopped to taste some specialty foods. Not much time to explore. The bike tour in Budapest was fine while we were on the bike paths, but then the guide took us on some VERY busy streets with no bike lanes and mingling with cars, I was scared. then he lost three of us. Vienna concert was lovely. The Vivienne staff was very friendly and worked hard to get the bikes in and out, feed all of us and serve drinks. Great job by all of them. Leslie was always around and did a great job of managing all aspects of the trip.

The ship and crew were top notch!! Wonderful experience. Our chef, Steven, came out at breakfast asking us for our meal choice that evening. He was an excellent cook. Gourmet food. Beautiful presentation and delicious. So nice being on smaller ship with only 35 passengers. The owner was our captain the last 5 days of the cruise. Very hospitable. Would highly recommend.

How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
Compared to the previous 2 trips we have done with your company, this trip proved to be a lot more arduous. The reason for this was the guide took us (22) into Ghent and expected us to cross tram tracks, ride in heavy traffic and somehow follow the leader when sometimes the group was broken up because of traffic lights etc. Once 5 people got completely left behind and had no way of knowing which road to take. My advice: keep unprepared cyclists out of large towns. We were all very shaken up by that experience. Other advice: give the guide a walkie talkie and the sweeper the same. The mobile phone was virtually useless in this situation. The guide should always be constantly checking the numbers behind him and stopping for rests. We were only given one stop to photograph a windmill when there were lovely places all along the route, but people felt inclined to keep going in case they were left behind.

The Clair D'Etoile is a very nice barge with a great captain and crew. The chef was amazing and the meals outstanding. This is a very easy ride, on mostly flat terrain. More advanced riders might want to look for somewhere with more challenging terrain. Beautiful woods near Paris and lots of places to visit. Really nice to come into Paris at Sunset and sail past all of the sights.
