· Tulip Tour - Amsterdam to Bruges - 8 day

I enjoyed cycling through scenic villages, seeing wildflowers, visiting the Watersnood (Flood museum), sampling amazing meals by fabulous chef, cavorting with small group passengers on this guided trip. The Feniks is an old small barge with lots of character.

I was disappointed the Tulip trip was tulip-less, thus my reason for knocking off 1 star. I understand there were maintenance issues on the canal that prevented us visiting Keukenhof Gardens & seeing tulip fields, just wished Tripsite notified us at least 1-2 days in advance so that we could make our own arrangements to see the fabled gardens. Another star knocked off due to guiding portion of trip which could be better managed: stick with nightly overview for next day's riding, biking more along canals and less through farmlands, and include stops to visit St. Bavo’s Cathedral. I emailed in advance confirming if Kinderdijk was on itinerary and was informed it was not. So I booked separate trip afterwards to visit the place. On the bike/barge trip we ended biking to Kinderdijk, so we were not able to get our separate tickets refunded.

Awesome tour of the Dalmatian Coast plus some biking! We loved the gentle rides, the boat was fantastic and the crew was fun and knowledgeable. We live Ana and Tara. The bikes were well maintained.

Fantastic accommodations! Well planned and executed trip. Great bikes, amazing scenery and reasonable distances for biking. Roads had little traffic and we rode on a variety of different paths. Highly recommended!

Make sure you are an experience biker as the level was listed as moderate but it was definitely advanced.
Didn’t enjoy the e-biking part at all and would not recommend it. Most people in the group didn’t enjoy it. Also many issues with e-bikes.

The trip was great! The itinerary was slightly changed due to weather. However, we were able to cycle everyday except one. The food on the boat was excellent and several traditional dishes were served. The cycling guides were friendly and took time to learn about each of the passenger.

Loved riding through the country side, so pretty & green. One of my favorite things was stopping at the strawberry vending machine. Our guides were wonderful and I was so happy they had extra e-bikes on the boat as we had a couple of folks that struggled in the rain and wind the first couple of days and they, and the rest of us too, enjoyed the remainder of the trip not riding 6mph. We had some rain everyday but looking back I think it was better than having full sun the entire time.

How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
It was how I expected but as I mentioned I was very happy they had extra e-bikes on the boat. My husband and I were ready to do out on our own thing on the 3rd day because the 2nd day was tough, rainy, windy and slow - about 6-8 mph due to a couple of folks on regular bikes, it was tough staying warm.

· Danube Bike Path - Regensburg to Vienna

Despite the chilly weather in mid-May 2026, my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our cycling trip, a first for us. The scenery was beautiful and varied, as the river is often winding. The accommodations were very good, although sometimes the rooms were a bit small for a 4-star hotel.
We opted for electric bikes, which was a good idea. However, they were quite heavy to handle. We also would have appreciated instructions on how to lock the bikes together and how to remove the battery to charge it in the room, as one hotel didn't have an electrical outlet in its garage. The Pedalo app, which served as our guide, was truly amazing; it's very well designed. However, the route really needs adjusting when there are detours that last for months due to major construction. The signs on the ground were difficult to find.
That said, we would be happy to repeat a similar experience with TripSite.

Being on bike paths going through the countryside was a highlight. Tour guides were terrific, and we were very impressed with how the whole barge team worked together on all aspects of the trip.

How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
I'm glad I got an e-bike, even though the terrain was mostly flat. Bike notes: the bike was good but I had to get it repaired when the back brake broke. Also, the handlebars needed adjusting and we didn't have the equipment to do it when we were on the pre-barge self-guded extension. Crew was great about the bikes once we were on the barge. Another note: I would have appreciated a detailed itinerary prior to travel, like the schedules we got each night for the upcoming day.

Enjoyed the trip. Last 3 days were the most scenic rides. Tripsite and the local tour operator were easy to deal with.
My only suggestion is to make the downloadable maps available for offline use sooner. The first maps did not correspond to our itinerary and were confusing. When we finally got the right maps it was right before the trip started making it difficult for many in the group.

The beautiful scenery, quietness of the nice small towns and the countryside's beautiful landscape visiting nice protected areas such as parks was enjoyable . The houses in the small towns are all well kept and clean. The free time given to us. The tour guides were great and knew the area very well.
They were able to give great information at the briefing sessions every evenings to all participants in regards of the following day tour. My wife and I were very much satisfied in regards of the quality of the bikes.

We had a great crew, they worked tirelessly to ensure everything flowed smoothly. Our guide Miko went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. His knowledge of the Netherlands and Belgium made the trip even more enjoyable. I would have liked a little warmer and drier weather, but it did warm up in the latter half of the trip.

· Denmark and Sweden’s Scenic Coastlines

We've done a few, this wasn't our favorite. The guides and the staff were lovely. Aside from the island of Ven we weren't too impressed with a lot of the scenic routes. I feel bad saying this but if they're really looking to make a better experience, the food could use some improving. The soups were wonderful, desserts too. My husband doesn't eat fish, he noted that, but no options available, breakfast after 8 days was unappealing. The rooms could use a little air fresheners too. It smelled quite moldy. The staff was lovely though. We will book again.

Awesome trip. Really enjoyed biking along the Portuguese coast.
We had 6 on our trip, 3 e-bikers and 3 human powered bikes. The human powered bikers were able to keep pace with the e-bikes except for the steep hills. It turns out that the cobblestone streets and dirt trails are self limiting on the speed of e-bikes.

The Torre do Rio and Parador de Baiona hotels were the highlight of the trip.

I had some frustrations:
1. The Ride with GPS directions did not match the GPS device directions
2. The GPS device directions were wrong for the boat crossing and no advanced warning that the boat launch location may differ was given.
3. The route lead you to paths that were clearly marked as bicycles prohibited
4. The elevation gain numbers did not match across any of the literature. It was off by hundreds of meters depending on where you looked.

We had no previous experience with a bike tour. We really appreciated the guided aspect of this tour and Sergio and Pedro were excellent guides. We chose the e-bikes because of the flexibility it provided to make our riding as easy or as difficult as we wanted. We recognized that some in our group chose regular bikes and adjusted our riding on the steep inclines knowing it would take them longer to get to the rest stop and cheered them on as we waited for them. The scenery is so stunning and made ride that much more enjoyable. All the hotels were excellent and the food was all wonderful. Each city we stopped in was beautiful. The only suggestion we would make is to make less stops along the Camino and get to the hotel around 3pm each day. That way, even if the rooms are not ready people can can go have lunch and then return to check in and relax before dinner and site seeing.

· Provence - E-Bike & Boat

Out cycle guide was excellent! We were less satisfied with the Arosa Stella. Promised free internet was not provided and paid internet was poor. Some issues with no AC in rooms, and intermitent hot water. Food was good but were expecting more local French meal options. The food was very German, probably because of large Swiss German and German numbers on the boat. Just seemed to be less of a Provence France experience with very German buffets.

Biking the wonderful trails along the Danube. The quality of the e-bikes was superb. breakfast was always great. Plenty of variety. Dinner was 3-4 stars. Fish was the most consistent as far as preparation and flavor. I did like the option of ordering more or less quantity. I didn’t appreciate being charged for water - especially when dining. Overload of information prior to next days ride. KISS. ALL IN ALL AN ENJOYABLE VACATION.

· Mantova to Venice or Venice to Mantova

I did the self-guided pre trip, Bolzano to Mantova, the mountains and landscape are incredibly beautiful. Loved visiting places I had never been, i.e., Trento is lovely. The meal prepared by the chefs on the Ave Marie were amazing, better than other barge trips I've taken.
On the downside, I was a solo traveler so I was assigned single hotel rooms, and my room at the Magdalena in Bolzano was the size of a closet with a single shorter than average twin sized bed. But I booked and paid for a double on the barge portion of the trip. The same one time trip cost as couples paid. I should not have been penalized for being a solo traveler since I paid the same amount as couples.
The only other feedback is related to the group size. There were 25 or more of us on bikes. It's like herding cats, plus we overwhelmed the local coffee shops and cafes when made scheduled stops.

When did you take this tour?
May 2026
How did the difficulty level compare to your expectations?
The ride was more challenging than I expected. I am used to a light weight road bike. I didn't expect the Girolibero tour bikes to be so heavy, 30-35 lbs. And the tools and locks added an additional 7-10 lbs. Even though the route was relatively flat the weight changed the overall energy output.

· Tenerife E-Bike & Hike Adventure

For the record, we are very skilled cyclists who do not use E bikes. We have been doing tours with the company Tripsite for over 20 years all over the world. We are not competitive cycle racers. We are very experienced Bicycle tourists. This Tenerife tour features very challenging and very picturesque cycling on literally, World Class, cycling training routes frequented by the pros. Because of the elevation profiles, the clean air and excellent hydration and nutrition options; we fully understand why they come here. The automobiles treat the cyclists with regard because of legal ramifications in this country. Yet, there are occasional fatalities just because high speed cycling is extremely dangerous for cars and bikers. This is not for the occasional, flat land only, recreational cyclist. It’s tough and beautiful too. We loved every hotel with each, their own, unique characteristics, whether it was in a more quiet part of town with great bus service or if it was in the stunning national Park. Many of these lodgings were associated with excellent dining options up to the Michelin level. The local operator provides high Performance Bikes, which are necessary for the steep grades of long ascent and descent, as well as wind, altitude and elevation challenges. The expert services support and recommendations from the logistical tour operators to the bike shop mechanics and each hotel reception were some of the best we’ve ever experienced. We loved that the hiking tour guide, Sandra, could facilitate climbing local mountains or give cultural and nature based tours. Likewise, the cycling company can provide cycling performance training as well as touring Bicycle logistics and not only on Tenerife, but on other Canary Islands as well. We admit that this trip did cost more than expected, but one must consider the long distances in the logistics between Hotels and the quality of everything provided. The company Tripsite does offer wonderful options at all levels of price point and challenge and we certainly appreciate working with them for so many years.
We were absolutely thrilled with the trip.
